Hard to believe a place like this allows dogs in the dining room as if it’s a sidewalk cafe. I was there Thursday night, March 28 and a dog starts barking from under another patron’s table.

We have eaten here many times and it never disappoints. Last nite we both had the hog fish (prepped different ways) and started with a shrimp and lobster ceviche with just a touch of heat. We chased it with a blanc Chateauneuf-du-Pape. We book about 3 months in advance to make sure we can get in. We like to watch the sunset at Pierre's, which is right across the street, then walk over for dinner.

If not the best restaurant in the Florida Keys, it’s definitely at the top. Their fresh seafood is second to none. I had an amazing Blackened Grilled Triple Tail, Conch Fritters, Shrimp and Lobster Ceviche and homemade Carrot Cake. Anytime we go to the keys, our trip has to include a stop at this fine establishment.

I was a bit disappointed, especially for the $$. My fish was delicious but not really better than other dishes I've had in the area. The sides of veggies and rice were just plain veggies and rice, not very interesting. Dessert was cake straight from the fridge/freezer - not enjoyable at that temperature. It was a good meal but for me it did not meet the hype or expectation.

My wife is a vegetarian and what I would say is that if you're a vegetarian it's best to avoid this restaurant. The only appetizer option was a simple mixed green salad and at best I would describe the single vegetarian main course offering as uninspired. It was a mixed plate of whatever vegetables they had in the back, some were steamed, some were grilled, some fried, some sautéed with rice and couscous, both of which were obviously from other dishes that they obviously already had. There was nothing creative about the dish, no cohesive theme, no sauce. It wasn't actually a dish, it was just a plate of vegetables cooked in different ways. For such a highly regarded, chef driven restaurant, I expected much better. I on the other hand, started with the ceviche, which was served in a half coconut, while the presentation was fantastic, the ceviche itself lacked punch and flavor. For my main course, I had the trigger fish, which was actually amazing. Finishing off, we had the bread pudding special, which was also fantastic.

Our first visit to this fine restaurant. Everything we had been told about food and service was true. Chris, our waiter, was one of the best we have ever had. His command of the menu and explanation made selecting our choices easy. My wife enjoyed the duck entree and I had the sword fish with the Juliette preparation Chris highly recommended. The preparation and service was unmatched and one of the finest dinners we had ever been served. From our arrival to ending with fine dessert, preparation and serving was unmatched

The fresh fish is the standout here. Pick your fish and then your treatment of it. French to creole and everything in between. I went with nut crusted hog fish. @

Excellent meal at the bar. Just note it's wine and beer only. Had the trifecta - 3 fish 3 ways and the seafood pasta. The was my favorite. Server was most helpful. Will be back.

NOT THE QUALITY AND CLASS I EXPECTED. i called at 1 pm to make a reservation for dinner at 7 pm - twice- they never called back if it was confirmed or not. There is no other possibility for reservation online. They open at 5 pm so I thought I call again to be sure for our reservation. The lady on the phone was rude . And absolutely not aware of my calls this afternoon. So she had only a table at 9 pm. I accepted. And then she cancelled again. I heard this happened few times before with friends so I dont know if the owner of the restaurant knows this. The food must be really good but i never experienced that

My wife and I came for our Anniversary and Chef Michael did not disappoint. Our server was Kim who was lovely and very attentive. She gave us some wine ? recommendations and told us all about the menu as this was our first time at Chef Michael. Our reservation was for 8pm and we were seated right away.We ordered the Conch and Rock Shrimp ? Fritters which were very tasty.. we also ordered the Lionfish which I heard a lot about but wasn't too impressed with.. it wasn't bad at all but I suppose I expected it to be better. The Entrees were perfect.. my wife had the Hogfish and I had the Yellowtail.. spectacular!!We ended the night with dessert and had the salted caramel cheesecake brule.. soooo goo!! I would certainly come back and would recommend to all!
