Don’t listen to all these bad reviews!!!! They wouldn’t know if a good sub was in front of them If it hit them in the head! Don’t know what they put this sub but that was the best Italian sub I never had!!!!! Super big with lots of everything in it! And the bread had the be the freshest and softest bread to ever be put on a sub hands down! I have lived here my whole life and never liked Angie’s or sun deli. Just Publix subs or a few other places. This place steals the show for subs! Go and support this place! It’s local!

Walked in for lunch and was not greeted (or even acknowledged). After a few minutes, I realized that you are supposed to order at the electronic kiosk (which is not placed in a very obvious location). Then waited nearly 45 minutes for a to-go Philly. As I asked for a refund so I can leave, they answered a phone call. As I was waiting for the call to be finished to get my refund receipt to walk out, my Philly was done. It was handed to me without a word of apology from any of the 3 people behind the counter. It seems nobody enjoys working there. Very subpar customer service. Definitely will not be returning…

Delicious!!!!! We had a cheesesteak and an Italian hoagie. one of the best I’ve had in a long time!!!!! And I am from Delco Pennsylvania where the hoagie originated !!! If you want a real HOAGIE or cheesesteak you must come here. They definitely aren’t a SUB!!!!’ Jim nailed it!

This is the best italian sub I've had in my entire life and I have frequented in sub shops all over New Jersey Pennsylvania in New York etc. You absolutely get what you pay for. The Italian sub is a meal for 3. It's not just portion size it's quality thin sliced meats, flavor, fresh vegetables the bread is Amazing. Again you get what you pay for. if you want a decent Italian sub for $10 then go to publix but I can assure that this place is much better.

I ordered 3 subs and a potato salad off uber eats. The delivery kept getting delayed. I found out through my 4th delivery driver that someone stole the order and never reported. This is ridiculous, how do you allow orders to sit out to be exposed to this. I tried calling the multiple times and no answer from the store. It took 4 drivers from Uber to figure this out and it was going to get resolved but the order was cancelled and the store is now closed. Very unprofessional on both fronts Uber eats and Surfwiches.

I don't wanna get called a "chump" but I probably will. Nothing here was delicious, just ok. Definitely the largest and most meat filled sandwich in Jax that I have seen. You can feel the weight of this philly and all I had were onions and peppers. The bread was top notch felt good to sit down and eat there. Price for the quantity was on point.
01/09/2024 risked my life in a tornado to dine here because I read all of the great reviews. I will give my expert opinion. The philly cheesesteak was enormous! Loaded with ribeye. The bread was soft and delicious. The flavor in my humble opinion was lacking. I ordered the coleslaw which is homemade and has a unique flavor not bad. Mark took my order and Anthony made my sandwich. They were both polite but a bit aloof...wary of strangers no doubt, especially those who venture out into Tornado weather looking for food. Peach tea was not delicious but the Herrs potato chips were very good. I would eat here again but it would not be my first choice. The prices were more than reasonable for the amount of food given.

Man. I have been sleeping on Surfwiches for entirely too long. Hidden off of Penman near the beaches you'll find this glorious sub shop. Their Italian is the hoagie of dreams. Sliced to order too! Their cheesesteak may be the best in Jacksonville. Proper with white American and the bread you ask? The bread makes these sandwiches to die for. If you're in the area, or if you're looking for some fire sandwiches, check them out! Please!

I always try and give a restaurant a visit and form my own point of view BEFORE I read the Google reviews. In this case, I'm glad I do. I was served an EXCELLENT cheesesteak. Meat was seasoned perfectly, onions were sweet and tasty, and the Cooper Sharp was spot on. While it was a bit on the expensive side, I knew the price before I ordered, so cannot complain.What I do find to be mind-blowing is the way the owner treats reviewers who don't have the kindest things to say. Instead of taking the high-road and having some class, he rebuts by calling people "chumps" and blaming it all on Joe Biden. I've never in my life seen a less professional way of doing business in these tough times.So, you got my five stars because I truly enjoyed my meal. But no way I'm coming back here and supporting an establishment that treats people that way. Now, it's your turn to call me a chump.
