Was excited to finally go here and pick up some beer. I arrived at 12:30 on a Friday and they were not open. I realize this is a small shop, and there is a lot that can happen that would cause them to open late. That said, I intend to try again this week and see if I have better luck and will edit this review one way or the other with my actual experience.

Fun place. Nice selection of beer. Friendly employee at the bar. I liked the cider she suggested

I shop here often and always have a great experience. The in stock availability is excellent with a wide variety of options for everyone. They pick up some nice out of state product as well as local favorites. They also keep cold singles in the fridge if you don't want to commit to a 4 or 6 pack. Don't forget the meads too as they carry some real gems. Service is excellent and everyone who works there is knowledgeable about their product if you need selection assistance. Always some good craft beer on tap if you want to hang in and relax inside. You can people watch by the window or sit at the bar or tables inside which have a upscale and eclectic dive bar feel. Love this place!

Nice spot for trying out American craft beers. I learned that they have tasting events too.

Nice place to come get a beer with a friend or group!! But it can get packed quick so find a seat asap.

Alewife has etched itself as a standout beer destination in the Five Points area. It's like finding a rare brew in a sea of ordinary pubs. The scarcity of similar establishments nearby only adds to its allure. The heart and soul of Alewife are its owners, who not only run the place but are genuine beer aficionados. Their passion for beer is evident, and it reflects in the quality and variety they offer. It's a pleasure to chat with them about the latest in the world of hops and brews. However, I've noticed a slight dip in the introduction of new beers over the past year. While the variety is still commendable, the frequency of new additions seems to have tapered a bit. This isn't a deal-breaker but something for the regulars to note.In summary, Alewife is a win in my book. It's a place where beer is respected and celebrated, and that's enough to keep me coming back. Cheers to many more visits!

Staff are rude, cockroaches around our table and nasty tables. We didn't even finish our beers and left.

I was introduced to Alewife because of book club. I really enjoy the atmosphere, I haven't played any yet but I really like that they have the board games and stuff to play while you're sitting there enjoying your evening. The staff are kind and helpful, it does get a little busy but they get through the little bit of line fairly quickly. I like that the beers rotate too, it makes me try different things every time.

Love this place! Great of offerings of beer, cider and mead. Our bartender Sidre was knowledgeable and very patient with our questions and indecision. It's got a good vibe and very comfortable.

Wow. Great place to drink and have a good time. Nice design. Variety of beer choices. Bartender was so nice. They got unique design inside. Board games available. Bean bag toss game in the back of it.

Kelly was great! Very sweet and personable and took care of our bachelorette party with ease. The taproom itself was very vibrant and had great options for drinks, games and little souvenirs!

Stopped in on a long walk, inside is very cool with containers as the beer vault and bathrooms, old building charm with exposed bricks and multiple contour floors. The beer selection is fantastic in cans within the coolers, the draft beers are a good variety to please the masses. The beertender was very nice, service was great and we enjoyed the conversation we had while here.

This is a great place to go hang out in Riverside, especially before or after a movie at Sun-Ray Cinema right across the street. It's very relaxed and welcoming to people from all walks of life. Great selection of beer and board games.

The beer choices were good but the service was not. Staff was rude even though my husband and I both were friendly and polite. It was almost like we just weren’t welcome.
