we ended up here accidentally. it was fine. they have pretty good selection of food and the service was satisfactory. not much seating. and we prefer a little more spice or flavor than what we experienced. but nothing was wrong, it was an okay meal with okay service. and a little pricey for that level,Vegetarian options: veggie burrito or quesadilla

Real authentic Mexican tacos not hipster American wanna-be. Fairly priced. Tamales are excellent and reasonably priced when they have them. Order ahead for pick up.

I was showing someone out of town where to go for the best actual Mexican food and found out that I never reviewed this place. I've been to multiple areas of Mexico and in some very deep areas of Mexico like outside of La Piedad in Michoacán where tourists don't go. I've stayed in little towns with mi amigos familia. I have been to the local mercados and have had the most local meals prepared. When I go, it is during the time of Diá de la Guadalupe. The food at La Perla brings me right back to those home cooked meals in La Joya or the foodstalls in Quiringuicharo. Outside of Cali, this is the best authentic Mexican food I have eaten. It will be off-putting for regular white people that think chain Mexican restaurants are truly Mexican. Don't say no to any of the ingredients and embrace the true flavors that make Mexico a go to for chefs around the world. I will say though that I wish they would offer carne en su jugo during the winter, but that is a Guadalajara regional dish

I came for the tamales! Spoiler: no tamales. Apparently they lost their tamale chef and haven't had them in a while. So I ordered three tacos instead. My tacos were just okay. Not very flavorful, a little dry. Lacked the authenticity I was expecting based on some other reviews. Maybe I came on an off day... but overall, nothing really special about my experience here.

I went to eat with my family. The food was very good. We were served by a very pretty, tall, blonde girl who said that she especially had lamb and goat. I decided to try the lamb. It was very good. My children tried the burrito and they liked it. The food was excellent and an excellent service..
