There salsa should be against the law. It's super watered down with almost no taste - the very little taste that it does have is the taste of disgust. The chips came out super cold. The quesabirrias are the worst I've ever had and I frequent many Mexican restaurants all over the United States. The service sucked. The waitress disappeared and never checked on us at all after she dropped our food off. When she finally made an appearance she was hunched over the counter on her first phone still not acknowledging us (BY THE WAY WE WERE THE ONLY CUSTOMERS THERE!) I jiggled my ice to see if that would get her attention as it's the clear sound of an empty cup that needs a refill! Nope! Nothing! Gave her a little more time and still nothing! I literally had to call out "excuse me" across the restaurant just for her to finally acknowledge us! So anyways I can go on for days but bottom line is - food - service sucks! Will not be back ! At least now I know and I can spread the word! I should have known when I walked into an empty establishment on a Saturday!

Ordered the Que Padre Nachos and they were delicious. The portion was large and everything is fresh. I got it to go for lunch, but I am excited to come back and eat in the restaurant soon.

Que Padre Mexican Restaurant is a great Mexican restaurant located in a small standalone building on University Boulevard on the southside of Jacksonville, Florida. Walking into Que Padre Mexican Restaurant, I was impressed with the overall ambiance. The walls are black with murals painted throughout the building. The service here was as impressive as the ambiance. My server was friendly and professional and made a few good recommendations. She also brought me my complimentary tortilla chips and salsa. I ended up going with three tacos. One was a birria taco, one was a carne asada, and the last taco was a chorizo taco. The chips and salsa were a great start and the tacos were stellar, as well. The birria taco did not come with the usual consome, but was enjoyable. My favorite taco out of the three was definitely the carne asada taco. All in all, I would definitely recommend Que Padre Mexican Restaurant and I will give it five stars as an overall rating.

Everything feels so down home with the sophistication of the art around it that feels like a refined painter formerly a tagger in LA. The service people all sociable, humble and warm. But for their regulars, they scream their pet names and hug with the passion Latinos are known for. Be prepared with your Spanish as it is relied on heavily in this place unless you're good at pointing at the menu. The huge dishes just as beautiful as the wall art that glows under the black lights. My daughter loved her enchiladas and my son who is a man of few words said his burrito was good. That's saying a lot for him. He even took home his leftovers. My birria tacos did not have their famous caldo on the side and needed to be salted, but the ambiance makes it no big deal when you hear the servers singing to the background music. I was so charmed by this place and would come back again! Especially for Friday night karaoke in Spanish.

The food is good the ambiance is amazing you are surrounded by fluorescent art work. The tortillas are hand made and just delicious! Emily was very sweet and attentive. The only thing I didn't care for was the salsa with the chips but the other green an red salsa was to die for

Just in Jax for a trip and searched up mexican food and went to the first one we saw, and this was it. This food was absolutely amazing! I had the birria and it was different than what I would normally get but it was the best i've had! My parents got chicken dishes that were super large and filling! Overall great place to eat, service was great considering the slight language barrier! 9.4/10
