Excellent barbecue at a very reasonable price. My husband and I each got the smoked turkey platter with two sides. Everything was delicious and the smoked turkey was so tender. Definitely recommend stopping here for a quick but yummy meal.

Really good bbq! Service is slow because of the amount of people eating here so not their fault. It's a whole in the wall but I like that.

I hadn't been there in a couple of years. Clearly the old cook is gone. The burnt ends were hard and tastes like they were soaked in gasoline and the salad was soupy...yeah, it was soupy. and its just not the same quality i used to know and love. i suppose that's why the place was nearly empty...? the food was not good, the cashier was dumb as a box o' rocks. i told her this was 3 separate orders, she rang it up as one and when i reminded her of my request she said and i quote "ohhhh! i didn't know you meant separate, separate, separate!" WTF? then there was a whole big thing about the bbq sauce. we asked for the dark sweet one, we got everything but what we asked for. i went back inside to tell her and offered to pay for it. she over-talked me until i repeated-I WILL PAY FOR IT. she asked how many, i sad 10-(at .30 per) the manager says oh, well you might as well get the bottle for 7.99. Ma'am, your math ain't mathing. can i just have the 10? the new cashier who messed up the order was leering at me. it was the worst experience i've ever had and i was a frequent flyer with them for years. Its a wrap, a whole wrap cause the food is shite and the service is shite? Naaahhhh, i'm good. try your luck all i can say is FAFO....we ain't kidding.

Best BBQ on the westside of Jacksonville. Brisket, Turkey and Ribs are great. Great sauces and sides!

Fresh meats, vegetables, homey atmosphere, large ribs, easy access to parking, banana pudding, downhome service

A+ service but the ribs did not have any flavor at allthe fries had more seasoning then the ribs. The bread is good but the ribs are a no-go. Highly disappointed.

They say, eat where the locals eat! We stumbled upon their little BBQ joint yesterday after we dropped off a quilt to a friend. The parking lot was filled with work trucks and police vehicles. The restaurant was packed with people. The staff was friendly and the service was great. I had the smoked chicken plate with collards and green beans. I'm picky about collards and these were some of the best that I've had in a restaurant. As we were eating one of the employees was walking around handing out little servings of banana pudding. It was yummy and a really nice touch to an already delicious meal. We were worried we wouldn't get a table but the turnover was pretty quick and a lot of people were getting to go orders. I am sure we will eat here again!

One of the best Barbecue you'll find around here. A little in the middle of no where but it totally adds to the whole look they are going for. Really was happy to randomly come across this today.

Gators has good bbq. The atmosphere is very relaxed. It is a country style setting. The service is good. I visited once and a large crowd came in before me. To my surprise I didn't have to wait long for my food

Blonde lady is often rude and today I was not in the mood. Today I walked in around 12:30 PM for lunch. There was a gentleman picking up a large to go order and requested 2 extra bbq sauce packets. She huffed at him stating she would only give him one and any more would be $0.25 each. As the gentleman walked away the lady began tapping on the tablet screen looked at me and asked "For here or to go?" As I began approaching the counter I mentioned that my order was for here. I maybe got out "I would like a..." before the lady turned around and blurted out to the other workers "one of you will have to get him !" And walked off to the back. I just stood at the counter dumbfounded for a good few seconds processing what had just happened. Of course the other workers were busy so of course no one came up right away. Shock turned to anger and frustration and it was at this point I determined that it was best that I left. Their food is normally pretty good and and have let other instances some would consider to be rude such as over-talking me and let that go. I couldn't do it today. No matter how good their food is I am not going to be treated like absolute trash just to get it. Generally I am patient and understanding and had some one simply mentioned they would be with me in a moment when they finished what they were doing would have been perfectly acceptable. To tell your coworker to handle me and walk away in the middle of me speaking is not. I am not under any illusion that the loss of my business will do much of anything. In fact I wish them well. It will be some time before the sour taste goes away and I am able to return to try again.
