Amazing dining experience with absolutely delicious food, wonderful friendly service, personable staff, and delectable desserts. Definitely a "must try" for any time, but especially for a fine dining or romantic dinner night!

We ate there last week and were thoroughly disappointed. The service was very slow even though there wasn't many people in the restaurant. They claimed "the salmon takes a little longer to cook" and "they were short on staff that day". My Chicken Francese had absolutely no flavor at all. Totally bland. My wifes salmon was also uninspiring. Not at all traditional Italian food.

Sorrento is the BEST ITALIAN restaurant we've found in the Jacksonville area, we travel from FernandinaBeach (40 miles) to eat at Sorrento, we'd HIGHLY recommend this classic Italian restaurant!

We found this little gem of a restaurant in our search for something close by where we were staying. Was a little nervous because of some not so favorable reviews but decided to try for ourselves… first of all when we called to ask about the menu, Jonathan was very polite on the phone so great first impression… when we arrived he greeted us at the door and welcomed us in.. it was quiet clean and very cozy. Loved the linen table cloths, the blue accents and the soft Italian music playing.. it was a Tuesday night and we were the first dinner guests to arrive… our waitress was very nice and we were delivered freshly made dinner rolls which were amazing … both of our meals were very good. My husband had one of the veal meals with mushrooms and brown gravy and I had the spaghetti with homemade meatballs and I chose the pink sauce… loved my meal … and we both had salads that were very fresh and tasty. We each had left overs because the portions were generous leaving no room for dessert.. I would go back again for sure… glad we tried it .

My choice to spend my birthday with friends. We were wonderfully greeted and immediately taken to our table. Our sever was quite wonderful took our drink orders and return with incredible bread. I had the shrimp scampi that was very tasty not too garlicky but I felt the shrimp were a bit over cooked. The atmosphere is very pleasant, I strongly recommend reservations as Sorrento's is shall we say quaint. I do highly recommend them, and want to thank them for the birthday cheesecake surprise. and thank you Jacksonville what a warm and welcoming city. ???????

A huge disappointment. Took 9 people there for Father’s day and 4 of us returned our food as it was completely inedible. The veal was so tough you could barely cut it w/ a knife. The red sauce that was on the eggplant parmigiana, Cheese ravioli, and spaghetti and meatballs was awful. The fettuccine alfredo was watery and oily. The waitress was very nice and did what she could to salvage our dinner. I asked to speak w/ Jonathan, the manager, and he never came by, he totally avoided our table. Poor food and a manager that isn’t concerned about his customers.Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant.
WOW!!! We had an AMAZING Authentic Italian meal!!! Everything was so fresh and delicious from the bread, salad, main course, and dessert!!! I can't wait to go back! My new favorite Italian spot in Jax!!! I feel like I found a hidden gem!

I had high hopes for this place based on the newest reviews. However, it was a huge disappointment. The food was awful and it ruined our Father's Day dinner. 4 people from our party returned their food. The waitress was nice. Jonathon the manager avoided our table after I asked to speak with him regarding the food. With all the good Italian restaurants out there, do yourself a favor and avoid this one.

From the moment we walked in we knew we would enjoy our dinner. Jonathan greeted us and showed us to our table. He came around many times as we were eating to make certain everything was good. Our waitress was pleasant and the food was delicious. Will definitely be visiting again
What a wonderful restaurant! My husband & I loved it here. All of the staff members are amazing. I'm 8 months pregnant & they treated me with so much love & care ❤ They talked to us after we finished eating & even gave us some great advice. We will definitely be back!

Upon my arrival I noticed there were only 2 cars in the parking lot. I decided to take a chance. What a disappointment. The food was just short of awful and too salty to eat. While I finished my glass of wine, I noticed only one couple and another individual diner in the restaurant. I finally asked the couple how they were enjoying their dinner and both agreed it was not good. They had dined at Sorrento in years past and said that the food used to be very good but they believed the new owners were not up to par. As we were speaking the other diner joined our conversation and agreed that the food was not good at all. The only positive part of my visit was the server, the wine and the company. Maybe the new owners should consider hiring a new chef.

Our first time here and the food was outstanding. The restaurant is... vintage? but that adds to part of the charm, I think. We love old restaurants that have lots of stories within the walls. We'll definitely come back.

We love coming to Sorrento's is one of our favorite places in Jacksonville. Amazing service they remember little details from prior visits and put great effort in making your experience one that makes us wanting to come back for over 35 years. The desserts better than any other restaurant we have been. The espresso is the real thing smooth and yum
