Excellent food! The falafel is moist on the inside, crisp on the outside, and not oily. The muhammara was the star for me - a little spicy and a little sweet and just perfect. The gyro meat was great and the tabbouleh was fresh and delicious.

Wow, just sorry it took us so long to finally get here. We moved to Riverside almost two years ago and don't get over to Springfield often. I have followed Wafaa N Mike Cafe on FB for a while and now can 100% recommend and know we will be regulars. One of the best meals I have had in a long time. We chose the combination platter for two that could have fed more than the two of us. So much delicious food, it was hard to stop eating even when I was full. The grape leaves were perfect for me, with only a hint of mint and complimented all the other food on the platter. The hummus was smooth and creamy. I like baba ganoush, but this one was fantastic. Not too much smoky flavor from the charbroiled eggplant, just the perfect combination of flavors. Can't decide if the falafel or chicken was my favorite. The falafel was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and was fresh and full of flavor. The chicken was spiced to make each piece a perfect bite to eat all by itself. My husband loved the gyro so much he asked about how it was prepared-cooked with tomatoes and onions that made it delicious. The restaurant has lots of seating options, booths and tables with chairs. Your order is taken at your table if dining in or at the register if you are ordering carry out (a few people did while we dined). Already looking forward to next time and hopefully saving some room for dessert.

Upon entering Wafaa and Mike Cafe, I was immediately impressed by their modern, industrial, eclectic and artfully decorated interior. A super clean establishment. The bathroom dryer had a blue light. I've never seen that before. The kitchen is also visible and you can see how everything is kept and made fresh. The food verified this. We were greeted immediately by our server who we found out later was also the owner. He was excited to learn that it was our first time here. In the background, there is slightly jazzy, cafe piano music playing. Truly relaxing, like the music you'd hear as Charlie Brown and Linus are walking somewhere. We ordered the combination for two and chose hummus and baba ghanoush as our sides. The combination for two was chicken, gyro, grape leaves and falafel. The falafel is the star here. It was fresh, crusty, and fluffy. THE best I've had anywhere. We later learned that it is made from scratch with dried chick peas and fried once, never refried or reheated. The gyro was likewise the best I've had. I asked about this as well. It is lamb only, seasoned and cooked with tomato and onion until those flavors are incorporated into the gyro. It was also just slightly crispy. Amazing. The Tzatziki was light, whipped and creamy. The Tahini popped, nutty and good. The baba ghanous was rich, slightly smoky, with delicious eggplant flavor. The hummus was fresh, very good. The grape leaves were only slightly minty, not overwhelming, and very good. Finally, the chicken was fantastic. Perfect. The spice is sold right in the restaurant. This was my wife's favorite. After we ate, we were fortunate to be able to speak to the owner who was generous with his time and loved talking about his food. He told us how everything is fresh and thought out. He was concerned that the combination was enough. He told us how falafel in other parts of the world is like pizza here in the states. There are stores that serve that only and he wanted to honor that quality. He succeeded. We ended by telling him that this was the first of many visits we will be making. This is a must do if you're in Springfield. If you're not, make the trip. It's well worth it.

I don't understand why this place isn't packed out every hour they are open. Best Mediterranean food in Jacksonville and amazing service with a personal touch. You must try their baklava.Vegetarian options: Many options and everything is clearly labeled, described and explainedDietary restrictions: Everything is clearly labeled and they are very good about working with you on special orders.Wheelchair accessibility: You might have a little trouble making it to the restaurant from the parking lot, but the cafe is on a sidewalk.

My husband and I tried this place for the first time and we were blown away by the food here!I will say, I was unsure about this place at first because all the Mediterranean I’ve tried was okay, but this is the best Mediterranean I’ve EVER had!The waiter was also very friendly and patient to us and to every customer who came in. It’s a nice little place with amazing food and service! It’s our new go-to place when we come to visit Jacksonville now! :)

This gem truly gives that local Jax vibe. Between the owner & staff being so welcoming, to the food being beyond delicious..I seriously can't believe how long it took me to visit here. Everything tasted like it was homemade & the options for all the savory sauces for your dips or meats were impeccable. looking forward to bringing my fam here & trying all the things!
