If you haven't been to this hidden gem of a Bakery, then let me put you on game with this True Mom and Pop location in between San Marco and the Mandarin part of Jacksonville. Serving some delicious freshly baked sweet and savory Greek goods for any occasion. They were featured a while back on the Food channel for their Chocolate Raspberry Baklava, but their Baklava Cheesecake is definitely a game changer for me and the Spanakopita and Musaka are amazing. Please go and support this small business and let them know #BigRichSentMe

I needed some Greek food in the worst way. Ok, that's a bit over the top, but I really wanted some Greek food and we were in the neighborhood, so I brought my sister, so she could experience Ya Ya Sweets Bakery. It's located in a bit of an older plaza, but don't let the outside deter you. We pulled up, parked (there is a small parking lot in front of the plaza), and walked in. Now there isn't a ton of room inside, so if there are more than a few people, it can get a little cramped, but that just gives you more time to check out their menu and decide about all the deliciousness you'll be ordering. After the party ahead of us was done (I was being nosey and heard that Jackie aka Ya Ya, just finished making Pastitsio, which is our version of lasagna. The group in front of us were coming back later, after it's cooled. I wish I had an hour to wait because I would have brought some of that home. When you walk into Ya Ya's you feel like you're walking into your Yia Yia's house. Seriously, Jackie and her husband are just super friendly and would gladly talk to you for a while. After looking at the menu, I opted to grab a piece of her chocolate baklava (she also makes chocolate raspberry baklava, which FYI is on another level), two Greek cannolis, and a piece of spanakopita. If you're ever wondering why baklava is so expensive, I'll let you in on a little secret, phyllo dough is not a forgiving type of dough. It requires working quickly and effectively, to make sure that your layers are covered appropriately, without letting them dry out. Jackie and her husband are lovely, and genuinely get excited when customers come in. You can see their love of customer service and cooking when you interact them. I paid, and was on my way. Did I wait until I got to where I was going to eat my spanakopita? No, I did not. I ate it in the car, and it was flakey, buttery, and delicious. It had the right mix of spinach, cheese, and phyllo. I def recommend. When I got home, I decided to dig into my baklava. Chocolate baklava and chocolate raspberry baklava are on another level. If you're interested in having something decadent, try either the chocolate or chocolate raspberry. Both have copious amounts of honey, nuts, and chocolate. They pair really nicely with a cup of coffee. Last but not least, the Greek cannoli. I asked Jackie what's a Greek cannoli and she said it's more flakey, has cream cheese versus ricotta, and it's great for breakfast. She sold me on eating sweets for breakfast. The next morning with my coffee I ate the cannoli and it was delicious. Almost like a cheese danish, but flakier and the cream cheese was sweet and creamy. Pros: -Traditional Greek pastries -Traditional Greek food like Pastitsio and moussaka -Friendly service -She also makes custom cakes, but be sure to call to order with at least 48 hours notice Cons: -Not super close to me, but I'm sure that's a good thing or else I'd be eating a Greek cannoli every day for breakfast Tips: They're closed on Sunday and Mondays so plan accordingly.

Ya ya is really an amazing cook and baker. Her spanakopita is even better than the spanakopita I had in Greece! You can tell she puts her heart and soul into the food she makes. Highly recommend coming here if you want authentic Greek food and treats!

YAYA did an amazing job making our daughters wedding cake. It was beautiful. Chocolate was like fudge and delicious. White cake was very dense and very good. The detail on the cake was just amazing. Yaya also made delicious spinacopida and baclava. All the food was fantastic but the cake was extraordinary.

Awwww I loved stopping in here and meeting Yaya! I have had this place bookmarked for awhile and finally got to stop in on a whim! The shop is small and filled with treats! Cakes, pies, cookies, and to my surprise some savory options too! Pastitsio ( Greek lasagna) and spanakopita! I got an assortment of things and the funny thing is I loved the savory ones the most! I thought the pastitsio and spanakopita were excellent! I really liked the unique treats, an almond cookie filled with peach apricot jam, chocolate raspberry baklava! Probably my favorite thing tho was getting to chat with Yaya for a bit, she was so warm and friendly! Truly a great grandma! Highly recommend you stop in grab a few things and meet Yaya! :)
