Alonzo’s has a nice happy hour menu from 4-6p. I ordered the Pirates Punch for a drink. To eat I ordered Warm Crab and Shrimp Dip and a 1/2 Pound Peel and Eat Shrimp.The Pirates Punch was a tropical mixture of fruit juices and rum, both light and dark. It wasn’t too sweet at all and was so refreshing drinking in the warm weather.The Warm Crab and Shrimp Dip was more cream cheesy than anything. The chips were stale, which I’m sure because of how hot it is here is something that cannot be avoided.The 1/2 Peel and Eat Shrimp can be served chilled or warm. I chose warm which it is steamed in a beer and butter mixture and what tasted like Old Bay seasoning. Came for a lunch on Sunday and was ableto get a table overlooking the marina. Great service and hospitality.The mahi mahi was fresh and tasty in the taco, platter and sandwich. All was done perfectly.Good experience and highly recommend.

Spectacular food and atmosphere, except for the 35 - 40 y.o. frat-type guys using a ton of foul language, a manager should have stepped in. Also the "table busers" should know some English. You can't take people's utensils away and plates with food on it. Had to chase him down? , not letting that food go. Great chicken wings, I was surprised.

The food was excellent! Our server Xena was great! We are a family of 5 with reservations and were seated immediately.We ordered a bucket of steamed clams & coconut shrimp for apps and they didn’t stand a chance. LOL! My kids ate all of it (ages 12,11,7)Dinner my son had the Lobster Mac-n-Cheese which was a nice hearty portion, my youngest daughter had fried shrimp (kids menu), my husband had the island bowl with shrimp and he left no traces of food on his plate. I ate the hogfish with the most delicious lemon caper sauce. If you get this plate, order extra sauce for your mashed and veggies! My oldest daughter and I shared. The portions are big.DO NOT ORDER THEIR OLD FASHIONED!They do not know how to make one. I was disappointed with this because it was a cool evening and perfect old fashioned weather, but it was not good at all. This is why they didn’t get 5 stars.Kid-friendliness: Staff was kind to kids. They had a kid’s menu, coloring pages and crayons.

If this place were $10 less per dish, id give it 5 stars They seemed touristy and the entrees come with 1 lbs of green beans which don't get me wrong, I definitely didn't eat enough vegetables this trip but the plate is 80% green beans The coconut grouper for $38 was ok tasting. Grouper a little overcooked but flavor was nice Half the beans were crispy and half squishy The potato cake was very dense but bland For almost $40, I expected better. Also, I couldn't taste any coconut The scallops came with 3 large scallops for $42 and the scallops were great. Cooked very well and seasoned well but again 1 lbs of green beans + 3 huge portions of mashed potatoes (maybe 1.5 cups of potatoes) but at least they had some seasoning to them The server was very friendly and since they don't honor the yelp coupon for check-in (perhaps they could just remove it but ya know), the manager gave us a coupon for a free Bellini anyway which was very nice of them and definitely contributed to the 4 stars Oysters were definitely the star. If I wasn't pregnant, we'd have gotten raw oysters a plenty and nothing else. They have quite the variety and seem to shine on the seafood platters. We got some baked oysters and they were all good! The buffalo did have some kick to it which was a pleasant surprise. The random corn salad was quite tasty, as well. Overall, food was average. View was great. Service was good. Would probably not go back but I'm glad we tried it

The food was phenomenal at this place but unfortunately the atmosphere was poor and ruined the experience. 10 minutes after I sat down with my wife and 12 year old son for a sunset dinner; a group of seven rowdy, clearly drunk out of their minds, 30ish year old guys walked in yelling across the restaurant, dropping f bomb and f bomb.Rather the show them on their way they were seated between us and another family with two kids younger than ours. Although intoxicated they were all served more drinks. They sat there dropping more f bombs, yelling out loud about girls they f’d, b-jobs, more f’s and mf’s. The female staff cringed as they walked by and had to serve these guys. Other potential customers walked in and straight out once they saw and heard them.It is beyond me that no one on the staff showed these guys out or even said a word to them about their behavior and language. They just continued to serve them food and more liquor while other customers had to sit and experience this with their kids and wives.I spoke to the manager, Carlos, on our way out and he played dumb that he didn’t hear them at all or was completely oblivious and still did nothing about it. Any respectful establishment would have sent the group on their way. We will never eat at Alonzo’s again while in Key West. If that is the type of customer they serve than it is not a place for a decent family or couple to go to and enjoy a meal.
