“My Dad is from Alabama & I lived there briefly & ate at the Whistle Stop Cafe. My husband’s family is originally from TN and ran a restaurant. We know southern cookin’. So trust me when I tell you this is some of the best if not THE best southern cooking we’ve had in a while. Including Lucy Buffett, Paula Deen, etc etc. We loved the delicate crisp of the onion rings & catfish, the friendly attentive service & the historical location. Now we live in the area we’ll be back! “Food was great. Service, once seated, was good. The wait to be seated was extreme enough that after 10 minutes of being ignored the couple in front of us walked out, while we stayed the course for almost 10 more minutes. Can't say for sure, but it didn't seem to be a lack of staff at the front of the house. Decent atmosphere.“
“Love love love this place. Wish they would open a location in or near Mount dora. My only little not really complaint is that the resturaunt seems too small for the customer flow and close seating for my taste. Still worth it though. Highly recommend.“
