I read the reviews, only to be disappointed. Really slow bar service, really mediocre food. It wouldn’t take much to make this live up to the reviews I read so maybe it was just an off night. One and Done.

We traveled to Lake city for day trip and ate lunch at the Bistro. My wife had shrimp and grits and I had elk burger. Plus best bloody Mary I ever had. Great place to eat.

The food and service was amazing! We had the steak salad. Steak was some of the best we have ever had. I also had chicken wrap and mashed potatoes. Both were superb!

It was a disappointing evening at a restaurant that we have been to on several occasions, and which I chose special for my birthday dinner. We sat at the bar, as we usually prefer, and received horrific service. I realize it was busy, and as a former server, I am sympathetic, but this was different - it felt more like intentional ignoring.At one point with being told they would refill my husband‘s drink order after they made a delivery outside (finally being acknowledged after several attempts to get a refill even noticed), she came back in and served newcomers on the other side of the bar. When my husband reminded her of his refill, she said it would be a few minutes. It had already been 10-15 minutes. Another individual who was assisting the bartender, made my husband’s drink refill in seconds and when our bartender came back, she made me a drink. I never requested the refill and had she given us any attention she would’ve known that.We had no silverware when our meal was arrived, and had to ask another server for assistance after a minute or two. I wanted a water with my meal, but again could not get her attention, and again the other server came to the rescue.What I found most irritating was her condescending attempt to apologize for the inadequate service with two times commenting ‘I don’t deserve a tip I’ve not given you good service’, which did not came across apologetic but far more theatrical.It isn’t in me not to tip but I should have given it directly to the other servers as they demonstrated great service.It was not the birthday celebratory dinner I had hoped and I know that is adding to my disappointment but everyone deserves better than our experience last night.The highlight were the two gents at the bar who entertained us with impromptu music at the piano. They were awesome!
