Tasty Chinese bbq in South Florida. Very small place so we did not eat inside. But the service was great and the bbq pork was on point. I would highly recommend.

Although this establishment has great food and I've been a repeated customer throughout the years, I hope this review will reach management so they can reevaluate the preparation process. This could have caused serious injury... Yes, that's a STAPLE impeded in their ham sui gok..

The roast pork was good the crispy pork (Pig)I didn't like, and the duck could have been a little more flavorful and more fresh

After hearing a rave review about Cote in Miami, which was part of Miami Spice last year, we finally decided to try Korean BBQ. Gou Lou Cheong BBQ was our nearest location. The pictures and reviews on YELP were more than enough to confirm the restaurant. Honestly, we knew about this place for years and years, but never visited due to lack of knowledge about Korean fare. Once inside, we were greeted warmly, as we perused the menu on the wall. Just so you know, the place is small, very small. Enough room for a few people to order. Gou Lou Cheong BBQ is all about take-out, not dine-in. Regarding preparation, all of the food is prepared on-the-spot. We never had duck before, so we selected the roast duck with rice and cabbage. Never had honey-roasted pork or sticky rice with Lotus leaf, so we chose those too. We received additional sauces for both orders. Both dishes were adequate as they were, so to us, the sauces were bonuses! As we stated, the pictures and reviews brought us to Gou Lou Cheong BBQ. And it is the food and the service that will bring us back!

I come to pick up traditional bbq for my parents, the meats are well made and reminds me of home and at a very reasonable price. I'm really here for the Jung (lotus leaf packed sticky rice with meats inside. Also they have some dim sum offerings like pork buns. They take cash only so stop by atm first. It's take out only fyi.

Gou Lou Cheong is definitely not for the faint of heart. It is a Vietnamese/ Chinese BBQ that serves up dishes that are far from ordinary Americanized Asian restaurants. You are greeted the second you walk into this take-out only hole-in-the-wall with a chafing table filled with animal entrails, interesting sea creatures, and a roasted pigs head staring at his barbecued loin and roasted belly. This place is definitely not sanctioned by PETA. I ordered crispy roast pork, bbq roast pork, and honey spare ribs. No, I didn't try the tripe or cuttlefish. The soy sauce chicken and hanging roasted ducks looked good, but were pricey at $27 for a chicken and $37 for the duck. The crispy pork (geo quay or in Chinese, siu yuk). was tasty, but not crispy because it spent time in a styrofoam container being uncrisped. The roasted pork (xa xio mat or char siu in Chinese) was tasty, but too chewy and leather-like. The winner and savior of Gou Lou Cheong was the honey ribs. For $13 a pound, they did not disappoint. Truly some of the best ribs anywhere. Overall, this place may be wonderful and somewhat unique for South Florida, but compared to similar bbq's in San Francisco & New York, it's ordinary and not standout special. No ambience, somewhat pricey, it's OK if you have the hankering for Asian BBQ.

Always fresh delicious food. Love they give option of pork with or without fat. If want Char Siu best to go early or call in order for them to put aside. Many times they will be sold out before end of day.

Love love love this place. I've lived in 3 different states and eaten at many different cities, this gotta be the BEST, well marinated crispy pork. They got all the meat I would need to make wonton noodle soup. Their frozen wonton and dumplings are as good as the ones you'd eat at a fancy dim sum restaurant. My baby love their BBQ pork buns, can buy it fresh or frozen and just steam it at home.

I've tried all they have but really find only the honey roasted pork to be out of this world. Love this place for the atmosphere and the great pork! Quite expensive these days though and only accept cash. I paid via Zelle. But a fantastic treat for down here. If you like ethnic food...this is the place. TAKE OUT ONLY!
