Great food, lousy service! I've been eating at Woodlands for years, on average, twice a month. The restaurant was under different management/ownership pre-Covid. Since the time ownership changed hands, I've eaten there twice and the service was lousy both times. Under the previous management/ownership, and with a packed house, the service was good and the staff was very friendly. While the food is still very good under the new management/ownership, the service was poor at best. We arrived to the restaurant at 6:30 PM and only two tables were occupied. Despite the house not being busy, we waited 10 minutes before our order was taken, and that was only after my friend went to the host station to ask that someone take out order. The staff were busy on their phones rather than tending to their patrons. The food did arrive within a reasonable amount of time, and it was delicious, but no one brought my beverage. I went to the host station to ask for my beverage and the gentleman told me the waiter forgot to add it to my order. I said "no problem", and the host asked "would you like it now?" My food was already served to me, so when would I have wanted my beverage - after my meal? ‍ Not once during our meal did anyone come over to ask if everything was OK or if we needed anything else. I'm vegan and Indian cuisine is my favorite. Because Woodlands is a vegetarian restaurant and since they can veganize most dishes (and because the food is very good), I'll go back again, but I will provide my input on how they can/should improve their service.

Definitely pleased with our experience! We are vegans from NYC. We know the very best spots including the indian mecca which is Jersey City. Woodlands definitely satisfies our palettes - which is not an easy task for us foodies. Also, they are super accommodating if you have food allergies...I've developed an onion allergy (I know I know, heartbreaking!!!) - but our server was more than willing to accommodate this nuisance! Can't wait to go back!!!

It was my son-in-law's birthday and he special requested South Indian food. We tried many different things on the menu and everything was delicious. I drove all the way from Delray Beach to pick it up and it was very worth the drive. We will be going back.

This place has great Indian food and good deals for lunch. The portions are a fantastic size, you're sure to get full so stick to the lunch specials. They're the way to go. They come with an appetizer of the day, multiple options of their curries, and dessert of the day. Also naans and or parathas . You can't go wrong. The service is great, they're very attentive and all of the dishes were brought out without a long wait. Give them a try if you haven't had Indian food, if you love Indian food, or if you're just hungry .

We hadn't eaten at Woodlands for over a year since COVID, and we knew the buffet would not be an option. We are happy to report we had a very positive experience. We ordered Vegetable Samosa and Paneer Pakora appetizers which came very promptly accompanied by cilantro/chili and tamarind chutnyes. The samosas were a bit on the spicy side for our taste, but quite flavorful with the tamarind chutney. I was less impressed with the pakoras -- kind of bland -- but they perked up quite nicely with the sauces from our main dishes: Matter Paneer and Vegetable Korma accompanied by rice. Both dishes were generous portions, very flavorful (not hot), and easily the tastiest and most pleasing food we've had there in years. As others have noted, the decor is merely serviceable, and service can be spotty as they are running a minimal staff. But they are hustling and trying to do their best. And, yes, they still make those HUGE dosas about the size of a large pizza. All in all, we were pleased with our meal and will be back. Kudos to them for continuing to adapt and striving to keep the quality up under very trying conditions.

This used to be the best vegetarian and vegan Indian food in the tri county area, but now the owner has sold the business and the recipes since COVID-19. The new owners are polite, but there is no longer an Indian or dewali feel to the place and the food was downright sad. Watered down soups, curries without flavor and Chinese fried rice is all this place has to offer now. Won't be back.

Absolutely the best Indian in all of S. FL. Just wish they were in Ft. Lauderdale, that’s where we drive from; it’s worth it!

Good for South Indian tiffin. Upma, Onion rava masala dosa is awesome. Gets little crowded on weekend nights. They have good lunch options on weekdays.

The staff has changed and is taken over by a new management. Not as good as it was earlier. Hope, they will improve , as it’s the only veg Indian restaurant around Plantation and Fort Lauderdale area.

The best vegetarian Indian food In south Florida hands down. They have very well made food, that tastes fresh, and has good Ingredients. My favorite place to go when I'm craving mutter paneer.

Horrible experience. Rude staff, especially Carlos the manager, made us feel unwelcome and we decided to leave the restaurant. Three of us plus a toddler went there for lunch. The server asked us to sit at a table and we requested a different one since we needed a high chair to be placed. She agreed. Once we sat there the manager, Carlos, comes to us and tells us "you can't sit there, since a big party may come and we may need that table". Just to be clear, it was 1.30pm on Thursday and the restaurant had only 3 tables occupied i.e. at maybe 15 percent capacity. We also had two tables vacant next to us so the reason behind asking us to move didn't make much sense. He also went on to say that "you can't decide where to sit, you have to sit there" while pointing at the table. It was also not just what he said but how impolitely he said it. When we asked for a number to call to complain about this incident he said "my cell is on the visiting card". We were completely shocked by his attitude and just how nasty he was. We left and will never be going back again.

This place has taken a nose dive for the worst! Food isn't the issue. It's still good. It's the decor and the service. We sat at a booth and the seats were torn covered with white tape. Our table was two tables put together in a booth! Super weird and uneven! The manager, slash waiter is super nice but the rest of the staff is just sad looking and one guy had a horrible skin problem. Kinda lost my appetite after that. The other one didn't peak English. She spoke Spanish!

Love coming here, the people are kind, the food is great, the drinks are amazing. The absolute best fried pickles I've ever had! Everything is a great price too.

New ownership is terrible. I was overcharged for food and when I called, they said they cannot do anything and I would have to come back to the restaurant to maybe get it fixed. On top of that, the food is terrible. It used to be great but with the new ownership, it has gone from great to really bad. Even though they owe me money, I plan to never go back again.
