Our new favorite restaurant on Marco! Fabulous food, great service, lovely ambience. Our server, Trish, was wonderful. I had the Rack of Lamb, my wife, the Tournedos. Both were superb. Potstickers were a terrific appetizer. So much better than the run of the mill Italian places so common down here. Excited to return very soon!

Fantastic place to eat on Marco Island! We arrived early for dinner, not knowing that they don't open for dinner until 5:00. They open at 3:00 for appetizers and so we went to the bar for drinks and oysters. The oysters were like Oyster's Rockefeller, but called something else, and were served with a hard crusted bread. The oysters were tasty and went well with the beer we ordered. The bartenders are engaging and made our experience at the bar enjoyable. By 5:00 people started to stream in and the staff seemed to be attentive and friendly as they help everyone. The restaurant manager, Marty helped us get the perfect table and he checked back in with us just to make sure our experience was going good. My wife and I came to 844 Gulf and Prime specifically to get a good steak and we decided on the filet and added a lobster tail. It was cooked exactly how we asked and had a delicious flavor. What we loved about how it was served is that it came with sides of button mushrooms and au gratin spinach served in ramekins. The dish also came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The bread that we started dinner with was fresh - you can always judge a good restaurant by its bread, and the bread was delicious. Our service throughout the dinner was very good, and as the restaurant filled up with people you got a sense that this was a well-liked restaurant among the locals. We finished with a dessert that neither of us had tried before, Baked Alaska. The Baked Alaska (and a cup of decaf coffee) was brought to the table by our competent and attentive waiter (Mario), and served by flame table side. We had such a nice experience at 844 Gulf & Prime that we can definitely recommend this restaurant to others and we will definitely visit there again the next time we are on the island. ALL of the food was really delicious.

Wow. Great new spot! It's packed for a reason, glad we were able to get a reservation for the three of us, it was lovely. The owner and his wife were sitting at the table next to us unbeknownst to us. The fresh oysters, grilled octopus and escargot were all incredible, as was the stuffed grouper. Lovely service to boot.

We had an outstanding first time visit to 844 and an enjoyable dining experience. From the beginning to the end of our meal the staff could not be more accommodating. Upon our request, the affable hostesses graciously re-sat us from the inside dinning room to a window seat in the bar area (which we loved - really the entire atmosphere!). Pablo, our server, was so enthusiastic about the restaurant, ownership, and the meals. He was informative, courteous, entertaining, engaging and very fun. He split meals for us without hesitation and made paper flowers for the women at our table. Almost all the dishes we ordered exceeded expectations and none disappointed. We started with the Alaskan King Crab Dynamite served in a pocketed serving plate (think escargot). The crab portions were decent and the Sriracha Hollandaise sauce that topped them exploded in our mouths with unique flavor (and not too spicy). Loved them! Pablo split the Iceberg Wedges for all four of us and had them chopped!! That is service above and beyond. For dinner we ordered the Lobster Madagascar macaroni. Again, it was super delicious - especially the Tarragon Madagascar vanilla sauce. We split the Ribeye. It was very lean but thought it slightly lacked the bone on ribeye fatty flavor you might experience at big city steakhouses. My parents split the Tournedos Rossini and raved about them. We end-capped our meal with a flourish - the New Orleans bananas foster recommended by Pablo and washed it down with a round of port! We had read and heard mixed reviews about 844 so were a tiny bit hesitant. We are no longer hesitant. We will be back!
