My husband made a reservation to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived on time and were seating immediately. The hostess was very welcoming. But she sat us a table next to 4 adults and 1 very busy 2 year old.The restaurant is lovely the atmosphere is quiet and nice. (Except for the child)We ordered the goat cheese salad and lobster bisque. The salad was good, the soup had good flavor but no lobster. We waited a long time after our 1st course for our entree. Meanwhile the waitress served the women at the table with the child and it was an uncomfortably long time before she brought out the food for the men.We finally were served our entrees. I had the shrimp & scallop Samantha. 3 small shrimp and 2 smaller bay scallops. The rice was undercooked. The price was way too high for the food on the plate. My husband had their signature prawns which were dry. We were so disappointed. I told the waiter about the rice and he quickly brought me a small side dish of rice. But it was still bad.He offered us a free dessert but we declined. As we were paying the bill the manager came over and offered an apology and said he wished he would have known sooner. Not sure what that meant or how that would have helped.

We really loved it. It is a cute and cozy small restaurant. The food was good, they have a nice wine list and the staff is nice and attentive without hovering. Unfortunately, parking is definitely an issue, but that is the case in many places here on Marco. All that being said, we will be back for dinner soon.

Terrible experience! We love exploring restaurants and I must say this has been the worst place we’ve been to on Marco Island. Manager got in a verbal altercation in front of a patron who ordered a cup of lobster bisque. The patron was in the right and the manager failed to alleviate the situation and made a scene in front of my family and everyone else in the dining room. It made us all very uncomfortable.THEN we ordered steaks medium well. They all came back rare. We had them sent back and they came back medium rare!! What a disappointment for what they charge with such horrible kitchen performance. We went on to pay our bill and had a cute 9 dollar comp!Save your money, don’t go here.

Everytime we go to Marco Island, we visit this place for it’ s delicious meals, pleasant service and lovely atmosphere. The old building has a spirit and that gives it credit too. My favourite dish Jumbo Prawns never fails. Go and see & taste for yourself.

AWFUL SERVICE AND FOOD!Go to Joeys, Ciao Bella, or Snook Inn instead!REASONS TO NOT GO HERE (from a few locals of Marco):~Took OVER 2 hours to get our main meal~Never got my glass of wine that I ordered and the waitress kept saying it was coming. Don’t even get me started on how long it took for the beers to arrive.~My table was charged for 10 beers but only 6 were ordered. Luckily, they fixed this when we showed it to them.~Hardly saw our waitress.~Waitress asked each of us what salads we wanted with our meals, however, when my group received the bill- the salads weren’t included with the meals and we were charged for each of them. So I’m not sure why she even asked us what kind of salad we wanted when we placed the order for our main entrée.~When our waitress wasn’t anywhere to be found- we asked one of the waiters to help us find out what was going on with our order and he REFUSED! We had to wait for the waitress.~They ran out of food for 2 of our orders but didn’t tell us until an hour later. We had to order something else.~Food was very, very plain. No taste. Not one person at our table (out of 6 people) liked their dish. Actually, the bread and butter were good but that’s hard to mess up.~A different waitress came by and put bread and butter on our table but then came back and picked it up and gave it to another table. We were all incredibly shocked! 15 minutes later we got our bread and butter.STORY: Arrived at the restaurant today at 6:30pm and by 8:30pm we were still waiting on our main course and my glass of wine. I had to leave since I had a toddler who couldn’t sit another minute. My husband stayed behind to box up my food which arrived around 8:45-9pm. We were with 6 other people. They also were upset with the food and the service. When my husband got home at 9:30pm and I ate my dinner- I was so disappointed. It wasn’t even worth the wait and bad service. My husband, in laws, and their friends have been here before and they said it was good in the past. We are wondering if they have new owners. Either way, we will NEVER go back! You couldn’t even pay any of us to go back here. Worst restaurant on Marco.Go to Joeys, Ciao Bella, or Snook Inn for good quality food and service. Marco island is our second home and those three never disappoint.

This is a very old building and somewhat run down in the historical section of Marco Island. The surroundings did not impact the service we received or the meal. Everything was cooked to our liking and the special desert was awesome. My husband had the fresh catch of the day, Tripletail and I had the Chicken Franscese.

We went to this place twice during our stay, and I must say that the food tasted just deliciously. The service was excellent. But the prices were rather high and we felt that they pushed us to take starters without telling us how much it cost (and it did cost as lot), but tasted wonderful. When I saw the place at first, I could not believe that they would serve such tasty food. So I have very mixed feelings about the place - the food is absolutely delicious and the service is great, but the place needs a facelift and the prices are perhaps somewhat too high for the total experience of what you get.

We have been there previous years, but restaurant looks very tired and at the front area a bunch of old tables etc piled where you sit to wait. First Impression was not good. The prawns seemed more like large shrimp. Peal Yourself?!? Wait staff person should have waited till all finished with their meal to start clearing the table. Instead constantly at table a dish at a time,,,,will not return.

Quaint little restaurant. Had nice atmosphere. Waitresses definitely hustled to keep things moving. Food had good flavor and appearance. However the amount of seafood seemed pretty minimal in both the entrées and the Lobster Bisque.

Our recent dinner at Cafe de Marco although delicious, was a bit disappointing when we received our check. Apparently they were pushing the “Prawn special” and so we listened to our waiter and decided to order it. It was indeed delicious but the waiter never revealed the price($50/pp) & not only was it $$$$ but there was an extra $10/pp charge to remove the shells? Never heard of that! We’ve been to many high-end restaurants and usually they will reveal the prices on specials to the customer. We were unpleasantly surprised indeed! This should be addressed by the manager. Big mistake on their part.
