My Tokyo born wife and I usually sit at the counter and talk to the chef while he works. We could not do that here but we enjoyed dinner even though it was served in groups of sushi. The toro was very good as was the eel. Sake options were wide and we enjoyed a bottle of dry sake. It is a small space not as cluttered as our dives in Tokyo but ii did have a nice family feel. The staff was very helpful and kind. We asked for "small rice" and they did as we asked. It is sort of tucked in to the back of a large condo building and finding it takes a bit of persistence.

I used to frequent this spot when it was a different sushi restaurant (Nakorn) and was disappointed to hear it had closed. I was eager to try Hoshi and see if it could live up to the amazing sushi prepared in that location by its predecessor. The ambiance hasn't changed. The decor is quaint and not particularly remarkable. The smell of incense greets you as you enter. Service is friendly and attentive. I decided to order a mix of hot food and sushi. The menu tempts me, offering two of my favorite cuisines- sushi and Thai. Unfortunately, the sushi left much to be desired. It wasn't bad by any means, but simply..boring. We asked for sides of spicy mayo and eel sauce which added some much needed oomph. But overall, we weren't terribly impressed by any of the rolls we tried (spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, rainbow). The hot food was far more impressive. First, pan-fried pork dumplings came out crazy fast and piping hot. They were perfectly crispy, yet filled with substantial meat inside, and paired with a delicious dipping sauce. We also tried the coconut shrimp which came out equally hot and fresh. So crispy, these were a great appetizer to share. We would have liked slightly more of a coconut flavor but overall no complaints about the hot food. The Thai entrees that passed us by as they were being delivered to other tables smelled and looked SO good it made my mouth water and filled me with regret over our order. I would definitely come back again, but would likely skip on the sushi and just order from the Thai side of the menu.

Chef Kevin is the man! I wanted to try a new sushi place so l randomly found this one. Based on the pictures and reviews I decided to stop by, beyond happy that I did.Imagine not being able to make up your mind on what to order and then the chef himself comes to help you? Well that's exactly what happened haha.Chef Kevin helped me narrow down from all their delicious options and they were all pretty good. Yes, it tastes as good as it looks. I wish I could remember the names of the rolls right now but I can't ooops. Just show them the pics and they should be able to figure it out.It's located inside a condo/apartment complex in Miami Beach...not the place you'd think has amazing sushi but it does.Service was fast and professional. The restaurant is self was clean too and prices reasonable for the location.You can validate your parking ticket so you only pay about $3 for valet. Make sure to do it before leaving the restaurant.Overall such an awesome place and positive vibe. I loved my whole entire experience and can't wait to stop by again!

Delicious food and beautiful presentation! Spring rolls, gyoza, and veggie tempura apps were standouts. Every dish was delicious. Also the best edamame. Then we had some rolls and the seared ahi tuna. The salad with the tuna was fantastic. Green tea ice cream for dessert was a perfect ending.
