The Scarpetta is part of the Fontainebleau Hotel (better known as James Bond 007 - Goldfinger - where the girl was covered in gold in one of the rooms...). Scott Conant and I are friends on Facebook since he is a foodie, too. Since we had no chance to see his restaurants in Arizona, we used the chance to see the only night in Miami Beach and dine there. Our flight arrived that afternoon, and we were jetlagged and tired, and we found out that our clothes became wet during the transport. We checked for the dress code, and for that reason, I asked. The operator refused to connect me to the restaurant. He said that he was the only person who could help. He insisted I come with long pants (which were wet). I cannot move the table booking to later the day without charging the cancelation fee. And Sunday, it was closed. Gladly, I found some pants to bike. I did not care as long as they were long. When we arrived at the hotel, finding the restaurant was a little tricky: no signs. We got a table right at the bar area at the entrance. So we could see that they allowed every other male guest to show up in shorts but me. I wrote later to the hotel, but the management did not react. So it is ok. I stayed in a different hotel in Miami at the same price level as Fontainebleau. But be sure: whenever I am in Miami again: I will never choose this hotel to stay. N.B., the waitress, delivered excellent service, and the chef prepared delicious food. We could not eat more since we were jetlagged. With this gatekeeper at the switchboard (phone and e-mails), they are safe now that I will eat there again.

Our waiter, Gustavo was wonderful, as was the service from the rest of the wait staff. The food seems to have fallen off from last year when we were here. The Heirloom tomatoe salad was very good, but our entrees were average.

My favorite Italian restaurant in Miami. I've been going for years and never disappointed. The spaghetti with tomato sauce is their trademark and it's to die for. There is not one single item I don't like in their menu. Bartender is also great. Perfect martinis and also great atmosphere and service!

Best meal we have experienced yet during our stay at the Fontainebleau. Had the mushroom risotto - it was outstanding! Very friendly waiter brought out complimentary spaghetti noodles for our one year old to keep him entertained. Atmosphere is laid back yet sophisticated. Highly recommend!! My daughter and husband both raved about their meals as well. Scarpetta is a MUST.

Arrived and felt a bit disrespected because they tried to sit us in a corner round table. My date could not sit across from me and we were in between 2 other tables. Felt as if host didn't care. Table should not be there. Service took a while. Thank god my conversation with my date was a good one but waited about 15 mins for waiter to show up. Food was amazing. The spaghetti was delicious. Drinks were great. Nice place but service was not up to par.

Excellent ambience for our anniversary dinner, perfect service and amazing cocktails and food. I especially recommend the scallops appetizer, and the bucatini entree. We would definitely return.

I've been to all the restaurants at the resort and this is the best and my favorite one. Gill was my server and he is incredible. I let him guild me on the taste of Scarpetta. Bari is the greatest tasting drink there period! I had the creamy corn polenta for appetizer and for Entree the bucatini. The polenta hit all my taste buds in the most beautiful way. The bucatini with short ribs was a surprise for me. Cooked so well I thought it was spaghetti but then the short ribs massaged my tongue. Added with the Parmesan cheese I was in delicious galaxy ?. Dessert completed everything perfectly. I enjoy the fondente, sweet smooth and satisfying. I highly recommend this place for dinner date and business meeting.

I always enjoy Scarpetta but this time the food was so incredibly over-salted it was hard to eat. The appetizers were okay but the entrees: Cod, Spaghetti, and side Shrimp were far too heavy-handed on the salt.

Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Miami. Their food is so fresh and their table bread was honestly to die for. Every ingredient packed so much flavor. We were all very happy with our meals.

This feels like a solid 3.5. Food was good and service was amazing, but was very disappointed from the expectations, reviews and price. I expected this to be one of the best meals of my life and it was not. Had a group of four celebrating a birthday and we ordered several items over three courses, and they completely forgot our pasta dish. We waited over an hour between appetizer and entree, and then they brought our pasta after that as we mentioned it was never served to us. The best thing was the bucatini which kind of makes sense since it’s Italian but I also had higher hopes for the lobster and scallops, which were okay but not amazing, since we were on the ocean. I wouldn’t go back. The cocktails and ambiance were amazing, so maybe it would be better for drinks and apps or dessert than a full course meal.

During our week-long visit to Miami, Florida, my wife and I didn't have an opportunity to dine at every award-winning restaurant. But what are the odds of two of the best restaurants in town being located in the same building? If you have the time, be sure to make reservations at the StripSteak by Michael Mina (steakhouse) and Scarpetta by Scott Conant (Italian) in the Fontainebleau Hotel at 4441 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. Leave your flip flops and bathing suits at home. Scarpatta is a AAA Four Diamond Award winning Italian restaurant, a classy fine dining venue with Atlantic Ocean and poolside views surrounded by elegant glass, floor-to-ceiling columns and an enclosed veranda with nautical themes that highlight the dining room and cocktail lounge. Open from 6 to 11 Sunday through Wednesday, 5:3 to 11 on Thursday and 5:30 to midnight on Friday and Saturday, it features a menu of home-made pastas, steaks, seafood and at least one dessert that you simply can't pass up. My wife and I started with seared scallops with potato and pickled mushrooms and an heirloom tomato salad. Branzino was on the menu so you just know where my appetite was headed. I have been addicted to Branzino, a tasty and meaty Mediterranean sea bass, ever since we were introduced at a Sarasota restaurant in 2018. Scarpatta's version was delicious with cauliflower, anchovy and salmoriglio sauce. My wife opted for a bone-in beef filet with celery root, mushrooms and sunflower seeds. For dessert, we shared a large portion of Guava panna cotta with strawberries, toasted almond and St. Germain sorbet. Expensive? Perhaps. But you get what you pay for.

I had higher expectations from the reviews and price point. The food was good and presentation was nice, but with the reputation and price I expected this to be one of the best meals in my 36 years of life and it was not. The lobster from the downtown taco join was cooked better than Scarpetta. They also forgot our pasta course, so we waited about an hour in between our appetizers and main course, and they brought our pasta our after that as they had forgotten. In total, we were there three hours and spent about $900 for four people and I wasn't impressed. The service was amazing despite our forgotten pasta course, but I'd recommend for drinks and light snack over a special large meal. It was good but it's disappointing to say I've had much better in Michigan or Boston when the hype was so big at Scarpetta.

We had an excellent meal at Scarpetta. Gil, our server, was extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine and guided us with our choices. The spaghetti, bucatini and branzino were all beautifully presented and delicious, as was the tuna tartare, ceviche, and heirloom tomato salad. A lovely meal in an intimate setting. Highly, highly recommend!

The thing that stuck out most to me was the excellent service. Our server was fantastic In every respect, the sommelier was also excellent, spent a few minutes with us, and recommended an excellent wine the manager came over to check on us during dinner to make sure everything was OK. The people were excellent and it's a beautiful restaurant. The food was good, but not excellent, portions were small. Overall, it was a good meal in a beautiful restaurant inside a great hotel.
