Stopped in for a Friday lunch and left completely satisfied. Friendly service and great fresh food. Shredded beef special was awesome. Smashed plantains needed seasoning but was tasty as a scooper with beef. Never had cassava and so glad that I tried. So good!

I ordered ropa vieja with moro and tostones, the food was average in taste and portion size but the tostones was great with cilantro sauce, the service was pretty awfull. In the lunch time you expect some smiles and courtesy.. but in casa Juan the service in the "barra" was not what I spected.

Excellent service. The waiter Carlos, very excellent attention from this employee despite being young, very professional and polite, for him a 10. Thank you Carlos, blessings.???

I had the Fried Pork Chunks and they were very good. The fried banana chips are ok, but if you get their garlic sauce for it, they're amazing!!The service was good, it could have been better, but to be fair we walked in with a group of 20 people so it's not their fault we hit them all at once. They did a pretty good job and I would come back again.I'm still pretty buzzed from the Cuban coffee.

After two years of waiting in anticipation, we were looking forward to returning the Casa Juan. It was, in fact, disappointing. The food was okay, but not the exceptional ingredients and preparation we had expected from previous visits. The Arroz Amarillo con Pollo, for instance, was just too salty, ruining the subtle tastes of the vegetables and other condiments. The server was friendly, patient with our questions, but occasionally absent. Though the dining room was over half empty, we had to hail someone for service on a couple of occasions. While higher prices are unfortunately the norm these days, the billing policies here have turned aggressive. Even soft drinks were expensive. We were charged higher prices for the food because we used a credit card. If that was on the menu, our party did not see it and the staff did not mention it. Paying in cash would have significantly reduced the cost, but no one mentioned that there was a choice. The difference appeared to be more than the normal credit card surcharge. There was also a roughly 15% Service Fee added, which was mandatory. Tips for the wait staff were extra to that.Something has changed, the management and the cooking, something. It is sad to see such a decline in value and experience. It is a loss of a place that previously had exceptional food at reasonable prices, now serving okay food at higher prices, and loading the bill with surcharges and fees. At regular cash prices, and with the food prepared the way it used to be, it still would have been a little expensive, but perhaps worth it. The way it is, we will not return to, nor continue to recommend, Casa Juan.

Ordered the flank steak w/ sweet banana and yellow rice. They deep fried the steak!! I got it to my room and open it up. WORST steak ever! It was dried out and greasy!! To be honest, they did tell me it was fried, but not deep fried! It had no favor. The rice and banana was good.
