My fiance took me to Kaido for our anniversary. He wanted to take me to a new place. Saw good reviews so he decided to give them a try. We are so happy he did!!!What a great restaurant:)From the moment you are greeted at the door to the moment you leave the customer service is EXCELLENT. I have to mention Andrew our waiter: SUPERB service and very knowledgeable about menu. All dishes we tried were beyond delicious. The drink menu is very extent and highly pleasant. The decor and ambiance is beautiful and modern. We highly recommend this place and without doubt we will going back!

Over priced for the food quality that they offer. Soia sauce with truffle is horrible with sushi, why you propose as default sauce? Cocktail nothing of special.

Just walking distance from midtown to Design District. Attentive servers. Beef short ribs were the best tasting this evening! California roll should have been named differently to avoid disappointment, not just coz it did not contain surimi but real crab meat - it tasted nothing like California rolls. Enoki mushrooms were awesome. Sashimi platter was disappointing coz the fish slices were way to thin.

Service was very good, ambiance was intimate and decor was nice. Food was good but not great, maybe because its a brag Kilgore restaurant my expectations were really high. Overall good experience but wouldn't repeat.

We were a party of six. We ordered the ten-course izakaya tasting menu, and we added several other dishes. Everything was delicious, but the sushi was standout. The fish was obviously quite fresh, and the kitchen's control of texture and their sense of the rhythm of the meal was on point.

Lovely place and delicious food and cocktails. Our waiter was very nice and explained both the signature drinks and menu quite well. Wish we could have sat longer, but had to run and catch a show. Will definitely be back!

Where to begin... we had an 8pm reservation and arrived early so went to the bar for a drink. It was empty for a Friday night and felt like we had the place to ourselves. The drink menu was unique but the selection was a bit too "different" for me. I ordered the Gado Gado which was interesting but not something I would drink all night. Peanut butter in a drink is hard to wrap your head around. The Mekong Mule was better, more refreshing but still the Red Curry flavor threw me off. All the appetizers were amazing, we ordered seconds of the enoki mushroom dish. It was a-ma-zing. The entrees were all a bit meh. I would order more apps next time and skip the mains completely. But the desert. Oh the desert! We ordered the shaved pineapple juice desert and It was like a party in your mouth. After dinner we visited AMA the "secret bar" in the back and had a few more cocktails which had a wider menu selection and better options if you want basics. It was a very cool experience and overall a great night out.

We went for Valentine's Day dinner the day before Valentine's Day to avoid the crowds and Kaido didn't disappoint. Great service, cocktails, and food! Highly recommend!

Kaido is my new favorite sushi place in design district!! we came here for a friend birthday party in the private room and wow! so cute and intimate settings. The staff is beyond nice and so helpful with great suggestions. We had a lot of variety of sushi and sashimi and everything was amazing!!! So fresh and you can tell the chef put so much pride into every bite !!! Handcrafted cocktails was also delicious!!! I highly recommend this place for just a night out , date night or even a party like this one , The back room can be reserved for a large party gathering with its own private bar. I will be back again to try other dishes. Thank you again for your hospitality.

Absolutely incredible. We did Kaido's Ama-kase. I don't want to spoil this wonderful experience, that has a new menu every few months for their omakase. Our hostess was incredible. The food was beyond anything I've ever eaten. Classics recreated and reimagined to beautiful gorgeous works of art that tasted delicious. Will definitely be going back!!

I went to Kaido, when it first opened last year and loved it. I went multiple times last year, but this is my first time going back in the last 8 months. Unfortunately, Kaido lost its luster, the new cocktail menu is not great, and the food doesn't seem as good, as when they first opened. It was fairly easy to get a reservation on a Friday night, which last year, it was impossible. I should have known something was wrong, when it was easy to get a Friday reservation on the same day. The best thing about the place, was the server Andrew. He was amazing and very accommodating. I'm very disappointed about Kaido and hope they can get back to where they were last year with the food and cocktails. The ambiance is still great, but a bit sad, on the lack of quality.
