My name is Monica Baro Sanchez, I am a Cuban journalist and current graduate student in New York University. You all could completely verify my ID on Google. I want to denounce a case of gender violence and discrimination in this place. I was dancing with some friends, four women and two men, and I took off my blouse because I had a black t-shirt push up from Victoria’s and I was sweating a lot. I suffer from asthma and, normally, I use a sport bra under my blouse of shirt when I go to dance, because If my clothes get wet, when I go out of the place late and face the different temperature I can get sick. And I have never been offended as I was in this place this night for trying to stay with my t-shirt bra or sport bra. It was completely black, like the ones I wear to go to the gym. I was only showing my belly and shoulders. But still one security guard there told me that I was not allowed to use that there because it was a bra. I even showed him the recipe from Victoria’s that said “t-shirt push up bra” and he insisted in a very disrespectful way that was a regular bra. And, according to a female worker there, I was wearing a bra, though she was wearing exactly the same type of outfit. Then, a friend told ME that not even in Cuba you could see something like that and the security guard reacted aggressively and and another guard had to intervene. He got too close to my friend in a threatening way and told her that if she didn’t like it she could leave. And my friend, of course, didn’t react well to his aggression and started to insult him and took off her bra and she did have a real bra. I really regret this incident. My intention with this review is not to increase the discussion, I know my rights in this country, but to avoid more people to face something similar or worse. My male friends are not violent at all, but others could react differently. You should try to train that security guard there to work with people who go to have fun there. And the rest of the customers, specially girls, take this into account. It was a very humiliating experience for me and I also felt unsafe. Perhaps you should have a dress code in the door to avoid clients to be humiliated that way. We just wanted to dance.
This place had a great vibe. Service was amazing and very personable. Management was very responsive and result oriented. It was my 50th celebration with friends, and this Shots bar didn't disappoint!

It's a nice place. But, we had to show I.D. to the security. We group of 200 grown people. Then, we got a booth for $400. That, was the special. Why, it cost us $625 with Taxes, Bottle service, and Tip. Thanks
