Myself and 5 friends were visiting Marco island for a girls trip. We took a sunset boat ride and came to the restaurant after on the suggesting of some women o the boat who said “The rum drinks are great” well we did try the r drinks and also had dinner. It was all AMAZING. We also went for it and had desert. Which our waiter Mike said one slice was enough for all of us. But we didn’t believe him, so we ordered the chocolate and carrot cake. Oh my goodness they were HUGE and absolutely delicious. We couldn’t have been more surprised and happy with the Island Gypsy.

We came with 3 little kids with having just read a few reviews and having just arrived in town the day before. We were very surprised to find it an outdoor only restaurant, though with a wondeful breeze and good overall feel. The service was wondeful, with our server Brian checking on us quite often. We started with huge and super tasty order of onion rings (which actually came with the meal, but that was okay). We ordered sliders, Mac n cheese, halibut sandwich and shrimp/scallop fried platter and were NOT disappointed. On a side note, the scallops were the absolute I've ever had...ever. Even fried, they were juicy and so flavorful...wow. the ambience, marine and cute souvenir store was also cute. All in all, a phenomenal choice for our second night vacation dinner. I'd recommend to everybody, whether a family, couple or single for delicious food, environment and service.

This was our best visit ever to Island Gypsy. The grouper sandwich has improved So So much. It was crisp , nit over fried , sweet and tender. You must get the onion ring basket. It served four of us with one left. So well done. The lettuce wedge was so creamy and had delicious bacon on it. Outstanding. Will return.

When locals tell you this place is special, believe them! We just went and LOVED the vibe, the waiter, the food and the desert. A gotta go kinda place.

We visited the restaurant on a recommendation from an acquaintance. We have been going to Marco Island for many years and are no strangers to the restaurants. Island Gypsy was a refreshing change. We liked it so much we visited 3 times during our stay - very unusual for us! The setting is great - most seating is outdoors on the dock, although there are limited number of protected seats for bad weather. Be sure to try their onion rings as an appetizer - some of the best we have ever had! Beyond that pretty much everything we had was very good - grouper, mahi-mahi, chicken, burgers. Not a huge beer list, but certainly enough. Their desert options were also very good - we tried the Carrot Cake abs the Key Lime Pie. The service was very good, particularly on the nights we were served by Morgan. The one thing that this place was missing was live music - there was none on the three evenings we visited, although it was the summer. If Island Gypsy had live music I doubt if we would ever return to the Snook Inn, where we have been going for many years.

I only go to restaurants on vacation for their seafood but I fell in love with their onion rings last year and had to go back first time out this year. Yes their seafood dishes rock too but those onion rings!!!!

..... first time a few weeks ago, outside at a table with Derek - best waiter EVER! Speed uo to today, sat at bar - 3-ish, busy, service good but busy. Mike treated us right!! Can't go wrong with the "black" grouper and there is a different between regular and black as Derek explained - all and all, a great relaxed vibe experience !!!~~~~
Hit this spot today for the first time. Good food all around. Had burgers, chicken quesadillas, calamari and lobster mac & cheese. Not bad for 4 people, soft drinks and beer was cold!!! Staff was absolutely awesome, attentive, etc.

I was visiting friends in Naples and they brought me here for dinner. It's a little place outdoors but it has nice views of the marina. The service is slow - definitely on island time- but the food is pretty good. The steamed shrimp were HUGE! We asked for old bay on the side but it was still put on the shrimp. The lobster roll was good, but I would probably try something else next time. The carrot cake was outstanding. The photo does not do it justice. This slice was like a quarter of a huge cake - no joke! It was also the most moist carrot cake I've ever had. 5 of us shared this thing and there were still leftovers. I brought the leftovers home and enjoyed it with my partner - he also said how good it was.

6/23/22 5 Stars I went to The Island Gypsy for a late lunch as I was Craving their Famous Lobster Roll. I was Not Disappointed. The Lobster Roll was Really Good!! Lots of Meat, just the right amount of mayonnaise. Served with the Homemade Potato chips and a Dill Pickle. The staff is very friendly and Accommodating. My waiter, Shannon was on the ball. He made some good recommendations and also takes time to make sure your having a good experience. The location is killer, your right on the docks at the Marina. I cant wait to go back.

We headed back to Island Gypsy after such a great experience earlier this week! We thoroughly enjoyed the food and especially the dessert. The chocolate cake and carrot cake were delicious. Service was pretty slow this go around but the food made it worth it. Do not plan to come here for a quick bite as lunch plan for a longer stay !
