I'd been meaning to try Sophia's for a while since when I'm in Naples, I often stay at the Hawthorne Suites which is right next door. The place has a lovely atmosphere and it seemed like a number of large families were eating there and having a wonderful time. The waiters are quite friendly and responsive and make solid menu suggestions when asked. The menu is a bit pricey, $34 for a plate of lasagna, but the entrees do come with a house salad and warm bread basket. The portions are large as you can see in the photo of my lasagna. I'm 6' tall and 180 lbs but I wound up taking home half my meal. I'll probably go back and try something else the next time I'm in town.

The dishes were not well cleaned, it’s so dirty that on first glance, you can already see how bad it is. Other than that, the good was nice, not the best. I wanted to eat outside, but the waiter placed us very close to the parking spot, didn’t feel elegant. For I give it 3 star in all.

Tomatoes and ground beef is not bolognese. And $35 for their so called bolognese could be a hate crime.

This place seems to have a very strong clientele and happy for them. Can definitely tell most people are regulars so the extremely great reviews should really be tossed out. Our experience is not one of bashing by any stretch. We had good service, meals didn't take an exorbitant amount of time to be served and always had a drink within couple min of ordering. So no complaints there. But these prices are something else lol. Honestly couldn't believe it. If the quality and taste amounted to price then I wouldn't be happier. Taste was lacking on pretty much every dish. We had fried calamari and clams/mussels to start, a Pappardelle bolognese, Sophia trio (veal, shrimp parm and pasta Aglio e Olio) and a $62 veal positano. Figured for the prices we were about to pay we were in for a nice treat. No one finished the food on our plates...

Not good. I really don't understand what the rave reviews were about. We were disappointed. The food was just ok and the prices certainly did not merit what arrived at our table. We will not go back.

Went out to celebrate with a buddy and tried a new restaurant close to home and I left impressed. We sat at the bar and met Jay the owner. He and his staff were very accommodating and gave plenty of great recommendations. They anticipated our needs and were pleasant the during the entire dining experience. I was so impressed that I ended up going back out there the next night and brought my wife this time. This review comes on the heals of a terrible dining experience at the ritz where service was supposed to be their thing. It made me think of how great the experience I had at Sophia’s was and why I haven’t wrote them a glowing review. Goes to show that sometimes the best places to go are right in your back yard. I will be back again. “Try the veal”

The food is outstanding and we always bring leftovers home. If you like veal this is the place to go! The eggplant is to die for and so is the chicken francese! Camielle our server was excellent!! Jay is always such a good host!!

Was not as good as my husbands previous visit. Got trio appetizers eggplant , cheese ravioli , shrimp Parmesan. Eggplant was pre made and cold in middle, slightly warm outer edge but not crisp, cheese ravioli pasta was hard and d chewy , shrimp was ok. pasta bolognese was fantastic however, served piping hot and delicious! Bread was wonderful for sure! Lonnie our server seemed distracted and was not very personable or attentive. We went to celebrate our anniversary, let them know on reservations, no one said anything. My husband went once prior to my arrival, and said was amazing, he sat at bar area, had veal , best he'd ever had! Fairly pricey for Italian , never mind spending on great experience, I am gourmet cook so want dining experience to be wonderful and try to go places to achieve this

Service was great. Rice balls incredible! Our dinners- veal chop and penne with shrimp and broccoli were excellent. Side of lasagna was delicious also. Not our first time there. Won't be our last.

Incredible!!! We've been going to Sophia's for 20 yrs and have NEVER been disappointed. Had a guest with us who had never been there and said, “Best Italian food I've ever had anywhere.”

The dish I had, chicken franchaise , was the best I have ever had. The sauce was amazing ant the portion was plentiful. The pasta it came with was very good too. I did not enjoy the Merlot I ordered but it was a large pour. It had a tonic taste. Should have ordered an Italian red. Prices are rather high but the food is excellent.

Outstanding, as usual. I brought 4 newcomers to Sophia's, knowing they would be satisfied. Jay, the owner did an amazing job. Everything was fantastic, including the bill, LOL. It's always a great experience. Sophia's just increased their new customer base by at least 4 tonight. GREAT JOB!!!!!!
