My first time going and it was a horrible experience. We waited over an hour and watched our food go to another table next to us and then saw the other couple pick at the food and then 5-10 minutes later a food runner or waitress takes the plates ( that were picked through by this other couple) from the other couples table and gives it to us !!! After they picked food from it , talked over it and possibly coughed on it ! We refused the food and got up and left. Very disappointed that they would take food that was sitting on another’s table and try to give it to us.

Just ok. Went for breakfast and it was just mediocre. Had a friend with me and we both had a mimosa. 60 bucks in the end. Not worth it at all!! Service was good though.

It is always a pleasure to eat at Herschel's Scratch Kitchen. The food is always delicious and tasty. I love sitting outside and enjoy the fresh air. My favorite server Leah always greets us with a friendly hello. It also fun to see Miss Gritts the kitty. If you enjoy fresh cooked food - this is the place to go.

We were a large group but they did an excellent job getting ourorders and bringing our food. Highly recommended.

Awesome breakfast! Poached eggs were perfect.

Excellent breakfast. We sat outside, and it was all perfect. Waitress went out of her way to make sure to ensure my husband could tolerate the level of spiciness of one dish and brought a bit of the sauce for him to taste it.

Live north of here for the winter so don't spend a lot of time in New Port Richey. Very nice town though. A friend from town had me meet him at Herschel's. Glad he did. It was a pleasant day so we sat out on the great patio looking over the main street. The food was very good (grilled chicken wrap and side salad), quite reasonably priced and the servers were friendly and accommodating. The ice tea tastes freshly brewed too. I will be back for sure, it's worth the drive.

Friendly crowd, cozy in and outside environment. Food is fresh, tasty and plentiful. Oh but the service! Always happy when I see that my favorite servers are on duty. Top notch team keeping the coffee cup filled and yummy foods flowing and hot.

This place used to be great. But once again it was sold to new owners who have no clue what they are doing. If you happen to get lucky, and be there on a day the owners aren’t, you’ll probably have great service cause the staff and cooks are fantastic. Just the owner has no clue what she’s doing. She can’t be host, has no clue how to seat people in the order they came in. Multiple waitresses had to tell her that they had open tables ready to be sat. The food takes 5x longer to get out when they are there. It’s a shame because this used to be my go to place. Food is fantastic when you can actually get it. Maybe get some training in the food industry before buying a restaurant or pass it off to someone who atleast somewhat has a clue.

Been over a year since my last visit. Decent atmosphere, just very loud inside. Food was okay, not like last time. Took close to 45 minutes before our party of four got our meal and it was maybe luke warm. Busy and the host was not very helpful with getting us seated. Everything just was forced and not very inviting. Probably won’t be back, good luck.

This was my first time, and my own experience was not great. The place was pretty busy, and there seemed to be some kind of tension/trouble going on with the staff. The rest of my group said their food was great, and I can see from the reviews that many people like it here, so I am hopeful that my experience was not typical. It is my Millennial duty to warn y'all that this is not the Avocado Toast you are looking for. This was some bread that stood next to an avocado once a long time ago, haha. It does not include tomatoes or avocados (which is how it is described on the menu). I took one bite- it was kind of cold, and the bread was soggy, which is surprising because we waited about 45 minutes for it. Spend your $11 on something else.Service was very slow. If you are looking for something quick, this is not your spot. The atmosphere is good- you can sit inside or outside, which is always a nice choice to have!

We were seated right by kitchen door. Pretty loud and difficult to talk. Stuffed French toast was good, but very little fruit with it. My friend had shrimp and grits. It was very spicy and had a consistency of a soup.
