This is a mom and pop restaurant, it’s got everything you need, fresh southern soul food, made from scratch & with care, people are friendly & engaging when you enter, soon as you walk in you can smell the food, it reminds me of food I grew up on in Memphis ?? it’s a dine in or take out place, plenty of room for you and the family & some outside options, you can’t go wrong, there is nothing like it in the county. If you are in the area or not come & eat this place won’t disappoint! We will be back.

Good food, but not the place I would recommend for BBQ. We have ordered BBQ dinners a few times, and we only get 4 ribs that don't have much meat. I definitely do recommend the fish dinners here with sides of greens and macaroni and cheese.

Fried Chicken on Sunday, what could be a better dish for your day of rest, after all fried chicken is a comfort food, but it's also special, a treat of sorts you might say. I can still remember fried-chicken nights: next time you're feeling low, try ordering fried chicken and pop a cork on a bottle of champagne that's what I call chicken with swagger, now that is some good self-care right there, well I don't know if that's possible here and I didn't ask but I can't help but reminisce about those kind of times when I'm eating fried chicken, especially with some delicious sides, and this is what Aunties Soul Food Kitchen is really all about. The parking lot is sandy and filled with partly crushed shell, the old building has been renovated and is spotless clean, the entrance is where you'll get greeted, I almost forgot I was eating out and was waiting for a hug and kiss from my grandmother - the sides are still simmering in plain view so you can take a look at them as you find a seat in the dining room. One of the proprietors, an elderly mother figure came and sat down at our table with us with a scratch pad explaining the offerings while writing down each item as we figured it out. The selections are all simple delicious dishes but each so unique that making a decision can become somewhat of a challenge, for me it was going to be fried chicken no matter what the other options were. The oxtail was so tempting and just the thought of chitterlings made me smile. They don't do extra crispy fried chicken here it's either fried chicken the old fashioned way or if you want it a little more done then order it "hard" that's my style. The seasoning was perfect not spicy but full of flavor in each bite, we chose a group of familiar sides - Greens (omg I asked for a little vinegar on the side) so tender, so tasty and a great portion, the Mac n Cheese okay is my mom working here? - the Lima Beans cooked until they broke giving them that succulent texture and yes slab bacon included yum! - Green Beans and Creamy Mashed Potatoes with option brown gravy. I promise to return, there's so much more home cooking waiting for you here, all this food under twenty-five bucks and I had no room for dessert but I was eyeing the cobbler maybe I'll be taking mine to go next time...

Fried chicken dinner so amazing, I felt like I was at my Mother’s table! We plan to visit again and again until we’ve tried all items on the menu!

I was looking for a good home cooked meal and my husband found this restaurant. We were greeted by friendly faces and good food. I had the smothered chicken, but everything on the menu was fresh and ready to serve. My husband did have to leave to get cash, so be sure that you bring cash because it's worth it. Both cooks were friendly and provided great conversation. I can't wait to come back next month and try the ox tails.
