We went at 6 on a Sunday, thinking it might not be too crowded.We we're wrong,it was really busy and loud from the pool players. However, the service was quick,and my cheese steak sandwich was good. The wings were ok, but overrated,if you want real wings you have to go to Butler Pa. to get them.

Bartenders are often in their own world. If you're not a regular, don't expect to get even semi-decent service here. I have come here on multiple occasions and been ignored at both bars, for up to 15 to 20 minutes at a time. When I bring that to a different bartender's attention, they just say that they're busy, even though there are only three other people at the bar.Update: walked in at 9:55 pm on a Tuesday and was told that the kitchen now closes at 10:00 p.m., even though it's listed as midnight on their website and their Google listing. I suggested mentioning to the owners that these should both be updated so that other patrons wouldn't stop by, but I was told that it's not her problem and she doesn't make the rules. She told us that the kitchen closes in 2 minutes so if we wanted to put our orders in, do it now. So we did, and less than 30 seconds later, she came back and said that we can't order food.
A pretty nice neighbourhood bar which seems to have a fairly good following.

Great atmosphere and good food. It's a dive bar with awesome servers and bartenders! They have great food with a big menu. It's loud but a fun place! Karaoke on Thursday nights! Known for their frankenstein wings but the daily specials, seafood, salads, flatbreads and huge quesadilla's are delicious also!
Merk's is one of our favorite places! We've been going there for years...Always a destination when friends and family come to visit or anytime I'm in the mood for a great drink and a fresh meal. Their Ahi Tuna is some of the best anywhere and I've had tuna all over the state. Their wings are excellent and the shrimp is always fresh and flavorful.Consistently excellent food and we have never had but awesome service. We tell everyone who asks where to eat near New Smyrna Beach... Go to Merk's!
