We ordered a take out pizza and salad this week; the pizza was just acceptable, not great. The salad was described as "Greek", and although it had feta and olives, the rest of the salad (including the dressing) was NOT Greek. We heated leftover pizza in the oven and it was better the second day.

I have wanted to try this place for quite some time. I came in the evening after the dinner rush so it was not packed. There was a musician playing live jazz and vintage Sinatra and that was pleasant. After much consideration I tried the Chicken Francaise. It arrived with a nice presentation served on a small bed of noodles with a side of veggies. Although it looked quite scrumptious it was incredibly disappointing. It was possibly the blandest meal I have ever had. Not sure if a step was skipped in the process but there was simply no flavor whatsoever. It was also not served with any garlic bread which would have helped. The service was pretty attentive and very friendly. I will give them another try and hope for a better meal. Food was fantastic but they were really swamped that night. They didn't have enough servers and the ones on staff couldn't keep up. So, the service was rather slow. Not much different than other restaurants in the area though. It's hard to get workers to keep up with the crowds during high season

Great food and delicious pizza! Reasonably priced . It's really big . I enjoy the front room and the ambiance, but the food is great and also the service throughout the restaurant.

Two of us ordered the pea risotto with shrimp. The risotto was over done and clumped. Another in our party ordered the pepper steak and it was very little meat drowning in gravy. Two guys ordered prime rib. They said it tasted good but was paper thin. Disappointed and we have always enjoyed our food here we will give it another try. Was excited to try with the new Chef but disappointed this visit. As I said we will give it another try. We all have off nights.

Just had my second and last meal at Mama Leone's. The best part of the experience were the cocktails and bread served with the salad. The food would be high quality if this was a nursing home. I assume the only reason it survives is because the patrons live locally and are too lazy to drive 5 miles for a better dining experience. Seriously, Olive Garden is a better choice for Italian food than Mama Leone's. I had the chicken piccata, the sauce was thick with few capers and zero lemon flavor. There were three small pieces of white chicken, no breading. Seemed to be boiled or steamed vs breaded and pan fried like it should be. The plate was then filled with cooked carrots and broccoli. Every self respecting Italian restaurant I've dined in would have the piccata on a plate by itself or possibly with some pasta on the plate. Never seen Italian food plated like this. Guess that's how they hide the tiny portion of protein they serve. The princess potatoes the menu boasts about are whipped potatoes platted via a piping bag. Really what's so special about that? The staff were very friendly, the bartender made a good drink. The "food" came out in a timely manner. I'd suggest having a Gordon Ramsey makeover. It's hard to believe with all the outstanding Italian restaurants on the seacoast that this place survives. Don't go out of your way to dine here!!

I was able to get a reservation on that day. I had the Norwegian salmon with the Queens mashed potatoes, and asparagus thought it was excellent. Our waitress was prompt as well as entertaining.

Ask for Eric when you come in. If you’re talking about fine dine establishment. You’re in the right place. From the service to the bar. I left this place and I almost took Eric with us. He makes you feel like family

Service was exceptional. Atmosphere was better than expected. Food was very good and desserts were delicious. Prices were reasonable. Chef Jimmy Nadell, new owner, you have done well.

There is an item on the menu that is not spelled correctly under the pizza title "Quattro Stagiano". It should be "Quattro Stagioni" which means four seasons.

Love the pizza from Mama Leones! Been getting it here for years! We often get take out and have gotten the chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, calamari and lots of other items!

My husband and I stopped in last night for a glass of wine and our favorite wings (so glad Chef Jimmy kept them on the menu!). I spotted a scallop dish on the specials menu I just had to try. It was delicious!!!! Large scallops perfectly cooked over a risotto with shrimp and peas, complimented by a delicious sauce, broccoli and a beautiful presentation. I recommend it be a regular on the menu! I took a closer look at the rest of the menu and can't wait to try other dishes. :) Bonnie B.

Great food, service and decor, but the live music was much too loud and it spoiled our otherwise positive experience.
