I can't really compare because this was my first visit, but I can say that since they renovated/remodeled and reopened, the restaurant is very clean and pleasant. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table, so not truly a traditional sit down restaurant. The usual BBQ fare. The ribs I had for lunch were tasty and very tender (albeit a bit fatty, but that's pork ribs for you) and I brought home some pulled pork for dinner. The meat is plain (smoked) and you sauce it yourself. They had several sauces at the table and all were good. The spicy and sweet sauces were traditional, but the surprise was BLUEBERRY! I couldn't imagine it, but when I tried it, it was my favorite. Don't be put off by old reviews that complain about flies and sanitation. The condition is much different now.

Wow - HUGE improvement! It had been ages since my last visit and I vowed to never return; sticky tables, terrible service and subpar food...it was nothing like I had remembered from my youth. For some reason I stopped in to get some brisket spur of the moment and found that not only had the place been sold, fully rehabbed and the menu updated (all HUGE improvements) but the prices were competitive, service steller and brisket delicious. Seriously, the brisket is excellent. I've ordered out and eaten in....both were excellent. The most under-rated gem in town!

My brisket was cold and had way too much fat. My green beans were cold as well. I would've taken it back but I was experiencing a migraine and needed to eat something asap . While the staff was polite I just wish the food was just as top notch as well.

The place is clean and the girl at the counter was very nice. Outside of that I would not recommend. Brisket was overcooked and very dry, sliced pork was full of fat, pulled pork had a strong burnt taste. The Mac and cheese is very dry, not much in the way of cheese sauce. Baked beans were the best thing. Very disappointing for the price point.

Great spot! Loaded baked potato was amazing! Pulled pork and fried okra on point! Great home made ranch! Also the fat boy Twinkies!!!! Everything was great we will be back for sure!

We ordered takeout tonight. The burnt ends, spare ribs, jalapeno corn bread and macaroni & cheese were really good. The baked beans were just okay. The brisket was very dry and chewy. They forgot to include our sweet potatoes which was very disappointing. It’s super frustrating to get home and part of the order that you paid for is missing. We called and were offered to come back and get the missing food (which was not an option) or they would take our name down to get it at another time. The sweet sauce and blueberry bbq sauce was really good. Overall not a bad meal at a reasonable price.

We catered a wedding rehearsal dinner and all of our wedding party loved the bbq. The baked beans and okra were everyone’s favorite sides. Chris was very helpful with figuring out portion sizes. I would definitely cater from here again!
