Wow. What a discovery. This is a surprising amazing deli on a nondescript strip plaza! Located across from the post office in Ocala they have been in business decades and the locals know this place well. They sell meats and cheeses and make all their own fresh soups and sandwiches. The sandwiches are huge!! Delicious. There are a couple chairs outside which we enjoyed using. There is a small area inside to eat. I think they mostly do take out and sell lots of meat and cheeses. They close at 2 pm so get there beforehand ! Worth it!

As we walked into Southside Deli, an elderly man from the counter stared at us. It was my daughter and two grandchildren. There were several staff members, standing behind the counter. I felt very uncomfortable with all the staff staring. I wanted to leave, but my daughter decided to order food out. We took the food home. The fries were a small amount for the price that was on the menu. The corn beef was good, and my grandson liked the BLT sandwich. No fries with the order, everything is separate. A bit pricey! I don’t know if I’ll go back again, because of the staffing and their rudeness.

With my Venezuelan girlfriend to get some pastrami sandwiches. once we get in there, whole staff is staring at us made us very uncomfortable. Ended up actually not getting any food as my girlfriend was too uncomfortable with the stair she was getting from the staff. The old guy don’t know if his owner or what, but definitely treated my girlfriend, rudely and disrespectfully to the point where other customers were looking at us. They definitely feel some type of way about anybody of color in their establishment, and I beg you not to come to this placeParking: Parking lots full but it’s mostly of people that work there hopefully their customer service will improve that really wish they would just close Down as I don’t like, racist in my city or around us in our wonderful community

I will never go to Southside Deli again just know prejudice is so real! The food is great as long as you call it on and they don’t know what color of your skin you have but the customer service is really awful I handed the cashier which is an older man and the delivery lady was standing next to him, I handed him my payment he rang it up and and then he looked at me and he threw my card down on the counter and the receipt and pen and looked at me nasty, I bite my tongue and paid and said thank you and he looked at me crazy him and the lady and I walked out with every one in there looking at me crazy like why is she in here! It’s a shame that we still have to live in a world where the color of your skin still matters to them! Southside Deli of Ocala Inc We should love each other regardless the color of our skin! We have to move forward in life but obviously this restaurant is still stuck in the past where they want service African Americans!

The chicken salad was so SOUPY it was running off the bread. You couldn't taste the chicken due to the amount of mayonnaise. The reuben was dry and the crab salad was mediocre, nothing special. All three meals were lacking flavor.
