Food was good. Always enjoy being able to try different foods locally.

I have tried this spot a few times just hoping to like something since I'm always over there and Caribbean food is my favorite. J*** chicken not spicy little flavor and dry. Tiny plate of oxtail that wasn't hot or fresh. Cabbage was simple, not a problem with me. Rice was covered in curry witch normally I ask for but didn't here.... hiding dry rice cooking in the morning. But here's the thing sick for a few days even had to take off Monday from work. Won't try again.

In the middle of all this Route 95 congestion & numerous fast food place sits this food-truck (actually a trailer.) Got to be good because as our family hang out waiting for our meals, a tractor-trailer stops in the center lane of the 4-lane highway to get dinner.

Absolutely delicious. Loved the oxtail- super tender and flavorful. Owners were very generous with the portions, too.

Good food. Good people running it. Very nice people instead of the rudeness we commonly expect from other Caribbean restaurants.

We stopped here on the way to Miami. Great decision! The food was great. The goat was tender, tasty and spicy. The j*** chicken was just as good, it was cooked to perfection. I look forward to stopping by on our way back. The owner is a great woman providing excellent food and service. ❤️

I'm a foodie, new to the Ocala area, so I've been on a hunt to find all the good places to eat... I stumbled upon the J*** Bowl and was highly disappointed... So here goes, So I walked up and I said good afternoon to the middle aged lady collecting and serving the food and she responded" yeah hi" okkkk then. As for the music it was way too load.I ordered j*** pork rice and peas... pork was very dry and very burnt. Not well flavored at all. Rice and peas was ok..I gave this place 1 star be a there wasnt a zero star

Excellent food, the escovitch porgies with rice and peas and vegetables was off da’ hook ! The prices are half of what it is in South Fl, and New York. If you’re in Ocala , check them out for authentic Jamaican food

Drove by this place many times and finally decided to stop and give it a try. Been missing out on some Jamaican food since moving down from NY a couple years ago. Look no further and don’t bother going anywhere else because this is the best spot you’ll ever get some Jamaican food from. Had the oxtail with rice and peas and some cabbage and even though the plantains weren’t ready, you would’ve never noticed they were missing due to how flavorful and delicious that meal was. Work right up the road and can’t wait to be a repeat customer!

I was driving down to FL from NY and got so excited when I saw the sign off the highway "Jamaican Food" . I called to inquire about the available menue only to recieve an agitated tone of "ma'am we just open". No good morning thank you for calling the j*** bowl. How may I serve you......I immediately kept driving. The lack of customer service did it for me. No thank you!!!

I really enjoyed this place with the previous owners. However my recent visit under new management was unfortunately my last time. I wish I had taken a picture of the food but the truth is I threw it out having only eaten some of the rice. I ordered the J*** Chicken meal, the chicken was cut in a way that the bones had splintered into my food. They were all out of plantains, which wouldn’t have been a problem but they didn’t even compensate for the lack of with another item (the price was raised $2.50). The “veggies” was just raw cabbage, a mixture I assume to be coleslaw but it was flavorless and dry. The rice was the only thing I could eat but it also lacked flavor and I had to pick out chicken bone splinters in between bites. I also should mention that the customer service was not good. I did not feel welcomed there, and I was spoken to in an annoyed tone from the woman at the window after waiting 7 minutes to be acknowledged. Like I said, I loved this place and the previous owners and visited very often as did my husband on his lunch breaks since he works so close by. We unfortunately will not be returning and are sorry to say that. Hoping that new management will be able to take constructive criticism and run the business in a better way, which we know is very possible.

Should’ve taken some before and after pictures because the food was phenomenal and looked just as good before I ate the whole plate that these great folks served up. You’ll never ever ever need to search for another spot that dishes up Jamaican cuisine! Don’t miss out on some delicious food if you ever in the area of this place. They’ve definitely gained another pair of loyal customers.
