Not sure why this place is reviewed so badly. The prices are very reasonable for orlando and there were plenty of good option. I built my own bowl and it was plenty of food. The roasted veggie options for the bowls were very good and everything seemed fresh. Roasted broccoli and brussel sprouts were both well cooked. Overall much better than most in museum restaurants I've been to.

I have always enjoyed the food from here! I get the cilantro pesto noodles, potatoes and the bbq chicken bowl and it's delicious ! The portions are decent for the price. With $25 I can feed my family of four and that is a pretty good deal to me.

Honestly I was excited they replaced the Subway but I am still wanting a bit more from the potential of this restaurant. This mostly goes for the pizza (which is not very good) and sad because my kids LOVE pizza but they won't eat this. I have had a few other items here like the turkey sandwich and a wrap and they are just fine. On the weekends they serve 4Rivers so that is a nice change to see as well. It's a place we would come to if we absolutely had to but for the most part we try to eat outside of the science center.

The cilantro pesto pasta and the ginger garlic brussel sprouts are delicious! Ish, the GM was very helpful in helping me understand the menu and was extremely professional.

Solid 3 and that's ok!After years of Subway at the science, I'm glad to see something better pop up. I found all the selections decent, especially the burrito bowls and the bbq. However, my kids did not like the pizza due to the sauce they're using (it's too herby and not fresh). Service was quick and cafeteria style.

I've eaten here twice and was surprised when I just now looked them up and they are only 3 stars. Both of my bowls were excellent but I did keep them to all veggie bowls so I'm not sure how the meats taste. We just bought annual passes to the museum and I told my wife last week that every time we visit I want to eat at 4Roots so I'm surprised like I said about the rating. I've had very positive experiences both times.

really healthy -- delicious and prices are ok -- kids menu options -- big room to sit and also seats/tables available outside to eat

The concept of plant-based and education about the "whole" of eating is excellent. The living plant wall was my favorite thing about the restaurant.Starting with the person who served me who seemed to be amused that I couldn't understand him because he talked so fast and was just wanting to run me through the line and ending with the taste of the food, this restaurant needs an overhaul of the chef and management. There was no one waiting in the line behind me yet the server who was assembling my bowl seemed in a very big hurry. Very offputting to say the least.Server also did not assist with understanding what the options were since it was my first visit. The base of the bowl was supposed to be mixed greens...there were 8 small pieces of lettuce which was meant to suffice. Really...for $8.99?The white rice was so spicy it was difficult to eat...I have no idea why regular white rice would be that spicy from the beginning (btw I love spicy food and have even been known to enjoy a jalapeno by itself from time to time).Tofu was rubbery and overcooked. The sauce on the tofu was nice. All in all...this restaurant needs new management period.

I ended up trying two options and both were terrible. The first item I ordered was the Cuban pork bowl. Being Cuban myself, I expected a mojo pork. Salty and sour, made with lime and garlic. What I got was basically orange marmalade in shredded pork. It was both sweet and disgustingly bitter because they put whole orange peels in the meat.I asked to exchange it, and they graciously complied, though that was the extent of the positive. On my second go I stuck with something simple, the barbecue chicken. While the overall flavor was better, it was so salty I couldn’t eat more than a few bites. (Again, I’m Cuban. What I am used to is what most American would already consider salty!) Ended up throwing the whole thing out.My kid is in summer camp there and I send a lunch daily so they don’t have to eat that cafe food.As someone who really enjoys 4River, I’m honestly shocked at how bad this was.If they want input on how to actually make a Cuban style/inspired pork, I’m happy to provide input but please don’t market whatever I ate as Cuban. You’d get a much better value and authentic taste at either Zaza’s or Black Bean Deli.

I had the Asian bowl and it tasted sour. The rice and chicken were both hard and inedible. My daughter had the Dino nuggets and she enjoyed them. I only have it a second star for convenience since we didn’t have to leave for lunch and the staff were friendly.

Cute little cafe inside the Orlando Science Center, and very convenient to those visiting the Art Museum or Shakespeare Center and craving a snack or reasonably healthy meal. We were visiting the Orlando Art Museum and needed some grub. Found this place immediately on Yelp and ordered our food on their website. Quick, easy, and tasty! As you can see if the photo, this place was swarming with unruly children, as expected on a Saturday for a science center. Nonetheless, we found a place sit and eat, and our food was only 5 minutes passed the original stated time--no complaints there. Food was decent, nothing spectacular but good for a museum cafe. Noise was 10/10 and the lack of parental advisory was a bit concerning but nothing the museum really could have done. The 4-Stars mainly comes in with the whole sustainability standards that are bolstered throughout the cafe area--live green wall, farm to table, etc.--but they still use single-use plastic ware with cellophane wrappers... doesn't match up in my opinion, but was the only thing that irked me in our experience.
