Services was horrible. Food quantity was small. Feel like lunch special for a dinner time.

When you go to pay, check the receipt, because they include a 20% supposed “Gratuity” and they don't tell you anything. I asked the waiter and he told me that the tip was included. In other words, if they serve you poorly or there is bad service, they force you to tip.

Came on a recommendation. Not disappointing! Our waiter was great!! Very informative! Mofongo and shrimp- extremely good Alcapurrias- pretty good, they were small and not much meat. Roasted chicken- it's just ok. Needed more flavor! Rice and beans was old school! Delicious!

Achiote has long been one of my favorite Puerto Rican restaurants, but my recent visit left me with mixed feelings. While the food has always been phenomenal and the portions generous enough to share, there were a few disappointments. Unfortunately, they informed us that they couldn't accommodate our usual go-to meal of mofongo/trifongo with stuffed churrasco and shrimp. When we suggested they simply include the churrasco inside the trifongo, they insisted we order everything separately--a puzzling decision that left us scratching our heads. On a positive note, their complimentary bread is addictive, and their orange juice is usually available, although the oranges can sometimes lack sweetness. However, one major drawback is the restaurant's tendency to close early, with the kitchen often stopping service 45 minutes before closing time. This can be frustrating for patrons looking to enjoy a late meal. In conclusion, while Achiote offers delicious fare and convenient proximity, there are aspects that need improvement. I hope they take heed of customer feedback, as I'd love to revisit in the future with hopes of a better experience.

Great food, a little over priced. I got the mofongo and the “caldo” side soup that ALWAYS come with it is extra charge. On top of the $30 plate be very careful when paying the bill since the waiter extra charge me 20% and claim that is always like that when that’s not true. She was so embarrassed because I caught her. And then asked for an extra tip.
The Puerto Rican food is very good and the service is excellent, but it lacks more light, more joy in the decoration, the place is almost dark. I recommend the

This restaurant is very over priced for their food quantity. I just bought a pound of morcillas and this is what I got for $20. I was very disappointed and I will never go back there to eat again. It’s sad that people feel this is ok to do.
