We have been here several times over the years, this week we went and it was basically a horrible meal and experience. Over $500.00for 4 people. This restaurant is off our list. View great. Wait staff rushed us trying to take order while the fireworks were finishing up we could not hear him he could not hear us. Sushi was the best part. Out steaks were tough and and flavorless as were the potatoes. The desserts were so so no e of us finished them. So my advice at this time is to skip this expensive restaurant.

Updated March 2024 menu is outstanding and changes seasonally now. It is price fix 3 courses for 89 per person and worth it.Best experience of the week. Everything was expertly prepared including the pizza. Would highly

My wife and I dined here to celebrate our anniversary. We had always heard good things about the restaurant but honestly it always seemed unapproachable, but I think that was maybe just the way folks spoke about it. It always seemed too fancy for us, and don’t get me wrong it’s fancy, but I think it is still approachable. There was a wide range of people in the restaurant including some who had gotten dressed up for the occasion and some who had just come over from magic kingdom in their park clothes. We were sat with a view of the castle which is very cool to see from up high. Our server Ron was great. He even brought us a few glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary which was unexpected but so delightful. He went over the menu in depth and helped us decide on a cocktail. We ended up getting the raviolo and the surf and turf roll for starters, the filet and the pork loin for mains, and the spiced panna cotta and banana peanut butter torte for dessert. Both starters were amazing. They both were so full of flavor that u could not pick a favorite. I would steer clear of the raviolo if you are not a fan of goat cheese because it does have a strong flavor that came through so well. The pork loin was great but I personally enjoyed the pork belly in the dish more. I loved the peanut but butter banana torte but be warned it is incredibly rich. As someone who was not necessarily aware of this when I ordered it I may have ordered something else instead just because I was already getting full but the flavors were out of this world. There was a slight nod to a peanut butter and jelly with the berries on the plate, which was delicious. We did not watch the fireworks but we were told if we came back with our receipt that we could. Overall I think this was a spectacular dinner where all of the food was wonderful. It’s not somewhere I would go super often as it is pricey and the ambiance is more than casual, however it’s definitely a great option for a celebration or a meal that you definitely want to be amazing.Parking: Having a reservation for the hotel or the restaurant is required to park, however once you let the security guard know you have a reservation to the restaurant there is plenty of parking at the contemporary resort to choose from.

What was supposed to be a wonderful Birthday dinner for my wife & I, turned into painful food poisoning experience. They only serve a Prefix now, and it seemed to be an easy choice. A mini-sushi roll to start, a Filet w/Kimchi fried rice, topped off w/the white chocolate creme brulee for myself. My wife chose the Pear mixed greens salad, the Filet w/kimchi rice and the Panna cotta torte for desert. I got it pretty bad, but she got it horribly. With only a protein shake at noon and dinner at 9pm, we know it came from the restaurant as the pain kicked in 31 minutes after an 1.5hour meal. I dropped her off at the hotel front entrance to get a head start back to the room b/c she looked bad. Within the 10min it took me to find a parking spot, and reach the room, she was already a wreck, in tears and suffering from the aftermath. From there until 530am, we took turns hitting the bathroom, drinking as much water as we could hold. What a horrible ending to a near $300 meal. Not looking for free anything, this is just a warning to the restaurant and guests about what happened to us after eating this specific Prefix.

Been here before and had a good experience. However, this visit was an awful experience and highly disappointed. Reservation was at 745 and finally seated at 830. Main course came at 945 and dessert at 1030. Filet was tough and a poor choice of meat. Only highlight was the fireworks and our server Jay was great. Based on price and experience will not be booking California Grill in the future.

One of the best restaurants in Orlando, if not the best. Had a large corporate event, have been going here for years, and it never disappoints. In an age where customer service has really declined, this restaurant continues to get it right! Great job!

The waiter was good; I loved the fireworks we could see from our table. The wine list is limited (there's a standard Disney wine list for "fine" dining everywhere). The appetizers are just plain weird-- I got the pomegranate and pear salad. It was just gross. My main meal was venison and it was okay. Small, overpriced, but decent. It was cooked appropriately. My husband's fish was bland and the bean stuff with it was oddly flavored. The desserts were terrible. The peanut butter banana dessert was way too rich. The creme brûlée was off. My daughter said the ice cream sandwich wasn't very good (and she'll eat almost any sweet treat). I think they deserve a special shout out for ruining creme brûlée. Creme brûlée is always the same, reliable dessert--Have you ever been to a restaurant where you think it's bad? I haven't, other than this place. I loved California Grills when we came several years ago, but the price fixe menu is NOT the same quality. We all agreed we liked our BBQ at Flame Tree in AK much better.
