We went to Delmonico's in Orlando. Looking for a nice steak dinner with my wife and 11 yr old son. We felt rushed from the moment we arrived. We were able to take our time with the first drinks and appetizers. The shrimp cocktail was excellent. Best cocktail sauce ever! After that it went downhill. You would hope that an establishment that calls itself a steakhouse would be able to cook a steak to our desired preference. We ordered 3 medium rare filets. All three were undercooked. The waitress (Jennifer) seemed to notice this in the kitchen, but served them nonetheless. They were awful. My son pulled an undercut piece from his throat as he was literally choking. We finally sent his serving back to finish cooking. We were offered a free canoli. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.

The cuisine was excellent, and the service was outstanding. Though the wait was a tad lengthy, it was certainly worth it.
The steak was very bland, with no seasoning. The pasta had no flavor. The salad was the best part.

Food was not super-impressive, but was good. Great, clean family atmosphere. What stood out to me was the professionalism and courtesy of the staff. Logan, our server, is one of the best that we've ever dealt with. I'm highly impressed with this fine establishment. A+

I wanted to like this place. The staff was very kind. Our server was very nice.My wife ordered a chicken pasta dish that was very good. I'm glad she got to enjoy herself.I first started by ordering their $40 steak. This restaurant is advertised as an Italian Steakhouse so I would expect them to do both of those things well. Unfortunately, the $40 steak was overcooked and underseasoned. I asked for medium rare. Steak was much closer to medium well. My general rule of thumb is I don't do retries when it comes to steak, especially when it comes to something of that expense. It's definitely one of those, "you need to get it right on the first attempt."The waitress was very kind and offered to redo it. I declined and said that I would take the lasagna. Mind you, the lasagna is advertised as a 1+ lb serving of lasagna. Frankly, it was just sort of meh. There are a lot of really fantastic restaurants in the area. I would honestly give the lasagna 5 out of 10. The issue with lasagna is it's very much about skill and method. For me, when going to a Italian steakhouse, I would expect them to do core Italian and steak well. Realistically, two out of three dishes were done poorly. Unfortunately I can't recommend this restaurant. What makes it a little more frustrating is that it was $85 for a poor experience. Please do not think I'm trying to be rude. First step to solving any problem is recognizing there is one. I wish them well and hope that they can turn it around.
