“What a wonderful surprise this was! The decor and ambience are retro tiki. If you like tiki, you will love the vibe here. According to their website, Aku Aku is a tribute to the original which was located in Vegas in the 1960s. We enjoyed our cocktails, and left with way too many mugs, as well as a couple of cute t-shirts! Sitting at the bar was a fun experience, and our bartender was friendly (too bad I didn't get her name). We finished with their version of a daiquiri called a "snackquiri"--which is a smaller size daiquiri, but they have 3 variations. The one I had includes Dr. Bird rum for that funkier flavor, and I loved it. I'd recommend stopping in here if you like tropical vibes and tiki cocktails.“

“This is a great location for a restaurant right off the water beautiful views all around. Large clear glass panes throughout the inside so you can see if outside is too hot for you. Decently clean all around from floors, playground, bathrooms ect. The bar looked the messiest and still not horrible. Kid friendly with a playground right next to the tables outside fenced in and a good distance away from the water. I like seeing the schools crew team practice right in view as well as locals enjoying water sports. My server was Taylor, he did a great job checked up on us multiple times and brought what we needed when asked. Made great recommendations. I had tsunami shrimp 7.3/10 mild spice, nice crunch. Bacon wrapped scallops 8.2/10 very good, juicy, well seasoned, crispy bacon. Shrimp Cuban 8.5/10 great flavor mild spice, good sauce, underwhelming side with potato chips and pickle. Peanut butter pie 7/10 good but the butter was overpowering it needed some ice cream or a chocolate of substance like a brownie to counter balance the peanut butter. Overall I would recommend and return mainly for the views. ??Vegetarian options: They have specific vegetarian optionsParking: Large parking lot all to themselvesKid-friendliness: Kid menus, coloring book, and playground attached to the side of the restaurant. High chairsWheelchair accessibility: Parking right upfront ramp going around“

“I almost don’t want to review this place because it’s my fave spot on property and I don’t want it to get any busier! We love coming here in the evening and sitting and watching the sun go down and sip drinks. The cocktails here are so good and you can usually finagle a bit to reduce the sugar and increase the booze. But they’re all so clever and pretty. We also love the nibbles. The sushi is really good IMO. We also like the Thai chicken lettuce cups. Honestly it’s all good. We especially like it when they have the ukulele player out. And if you time it right, you can catch MK’s fireworks across the water.“

Dirty Laundry Tiki Bar • $
1036 N Mills Ave, Orlando

“5 Stars for an outdoor, somewhat hidden, metal-themed tiki bar. I could legit end the review there and it should be compelling enough to get you to check out Dirty Laundry. But fine, I'll go on.Love me some Mills50 bar hopping and I usually end up at Lil Indies at some point. Well, recently I walked towards the entrance to Indies and kept walking past it towards the faint sound of drums. What I stumbled upon was the most absurdly wonderful oasis in town- Dirty Laundry.Picture picnic tables and little nooks for seating, all under the stars, and fantastic tiki drinks with fun names. Then picture the most random assortment of patrons (me included, in this case), and metal playing over the speakers. It's not tidy and it's not meant to be.The drinks are strong and good (knowing the level of bartenders at Lil Indies, you can imagine the drinks aren't the kind of syrupy junk you might find at a college bar). I highly recommend bringing out of town eta because it reflects the bizarre juxtaposition of themes that are pervasive in Orlando. Overall, always a win ending up here.“

Waitiki Bar • $$
26 Wall St, Orlando

“Decent enough little tiki bar.I didn't eat anything so I can not accurately rate the food.Service is acceptable. It can be slow but what place isn't when it's busy. They lose points for no draft beers, but gain a point on pint cans of PBR for 3$. Fairly reasonable. They had a DJ that clearly operated to the principle "if you can't play to the crowd, at least play it loud".Overall it's more of a 20 something age of people. A bit more themed as a dance club, not so much as a Trader Vics.I like th open air concept. It feels like your outside. That's definitely done right. They also lose a point on bar stools, opting for the cheapest/uncomfortable option. In review a good enough place to drop in, but probably not a place you're going to go out of your way to go to.Parking: Zero affiliated parking options, you have to fend for yourself on the street.“

High Tide Bar • $$
33 W Church St 3rd Floor, Orlando

“We visited High Tide for the first time because it was my fiance's 30th bday and we had a blast! We were only stopping there to grab a quick drink to kill 5 min until 1-UP videogame bar opened, but the bartender there named Danny had such phenomenal customer service we ended up staying and hanging out there instead of going next door. The frozen drinks were great and had cute comedic names like Blue Balls and Purple Orgasm ? (the one called Suicide was my favorite!!) Definitely coming back here again! And thank you Danny for the great conversation and making my fiance's 30th bday memorable!! ?✌️Advice to management: Give Danny a raise!!! He's great!“
