Not really in business? At least Google maps only led us to a swamp south of Andretti.

Big Boy Dining Out

The Columbia Harvest, 2000 Palm Bay Road NE Suite 1-2, Palm Bay, FL, 329053 StarsIt behooves the longevous ones in our society to bequeath their wisdom to the ones behind. The tricky part, for most, is realizing when you are no longer a young whippersnapper, but more akin to your parents than you care to admit. Luckily, gray hair makes that change in perspective happen rather quickly. This is why I started BBDO, and why I continue to do so. With that in mind, those still in school should heed these words and pay close attention in all their classes, especially Spanish. I have nothing against the language or those that speak it. In fact, it is a beautiful language that flows from one of the most dominant cultures (historically speaking) on the planet. The lands comprising Spanish-speaking peoples have made huge impacts on the globe in every field of study known to mankind. However, had I known it would practically supplant English as the de facto national language, I would have paid closer attention in school. There are a plethora of restaurants in Brevard these days where if you can't speak Spanish, you are in trouble as no one there speaks English. Yes, one can usually get by with the old point-to-the-picture on the menu, but that gets tiring after a while. Anticipating such a conundrum upon arrival, I brought along a second to translate and/or order for me.Pulling into the parking lot, I saw that The Columbia Harvest is in the same building as Andretti Thrill Park. If the food is solid, this would make for a fun-filled family day of food and, in the words of Ricky Bobby, "Going fast!" Stepping up to the counter, I had my trusty second place an order for the Typical of The House #2 (scrambled eggs with tomatoes, onion, and cilantro along with a cornmeal pancake stuffed with cheese and Columbia blood sausage), a Tamal (your basic South American tamale of cornmeal, vegetables, chicken, and beef), and an order of the Changua Bread Soup.Say what you will of the proprietors of this establishment, but Carolina and John run an efficient ship as the food was ready in no time. Snapping a few quick pictures for the pleasure of the viewing audience, I commenced stuffing the ole gullet. The first item to smack my taste buds upside the head was the Typical of the House #2. The eggs were scrambled to perfection, the sausage was extremely flavorful, and I found the cornmeal pancake stuffed with cheese to be oozing succulence as well as melted cheese. While the Typical of the House #2 may have been above average, the Tamal fell completely flat on the palate. It was well-cooked, just found to be flavorless. I couldn't put my finger on just what was missing, just that a lot of flavor was missing. The Changua Bread Soup must be the Tamal's second cousin as it was also sans a lot of flavor. Fun to eat, but not very tasty. The Big Boy says, "If they can get the rest up to par, this place could be a higher rating. As it is, it's no great shakes."

The carne asada fries are definitely best loaded fries I ever had. Most loaded fries I can't eat next day but these ones still tasted good. It's a must have! So yummy. I can't wait to try other things in their menu.

Very good, authentic food! I got tacos. My bride got sopes. Both of us enjoyed our order. Only "complaint" was that they charged $1 for soda refills. Their Al-Pastor was totally on point. The asada was good, and I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor in the shredded beef taco. Their fries were so good I ordered a basket just to munch on while the kids played in the arcade. It's good food. Try it!

Was there yesterday (Sunday) and went to order some pan de yuca which they said they do not sell on weekends. Then asked if the bandeja paisa came with an arepa and they said no. Typically all bandeja paisas come with an arepa. So i ordered the birria tacos and were absolutely atrocious. The meat tasted like regular shredded beef. This place is not authentic Colombian food

If you want to remember the oak romance of yesteryear while enjoying your first homemade bread, this will jog your memories of old with the smell of fresh baking bread to take you into memory candyland. All smells trigger memories, and fresh bread is tried and true. A staple food for thousands of years, bread has always made a great meal even better. The foundation of cuisine. Who doesn't benefit from the power of fresh brain.

Sweet little spot very convenient to Florida tech. I took my son there for breakfast, the lady behind the counter is really sweet and the traditional breakfast is good if not huge. The pastries are tasty a little heavy on the lard, but they hit the spot. a very pleasant surprise among all the strip malls. It’s kind of hard to find because it’s right inside Mario Andretti racing.

If you are looking for some good Colombian or Mexican food look no further. They are located at Andretti theme park. During the morning they have pastries, breads and coffee while for lunch and dinner they have different plates. We have gone several times and everything has been good! We especially love the empanadas!
