Been a regular at Alton Starbucks since they opened. During recent visits in picking up my hot coffe e ordered I either spilled the coffee right on the floor since the cup was so hot and no sleeves were affix as before or spilled the coffee while sitting to drink and the hot cup was too hard to handle .I finally asked the friendly coffee maker for a sleeve and she pulled one from under the counter and when I asked why don’t they serve them with the attached or have the sleeve easily accessible she told me the new Starbucks policy was not to serve with sleeves and provide only when customer asks for one . After a spill today by my friend sitting next to me I asked to see the manager who came to our table and confirmed the policy and asked if we needed burnt cream if we needed one . That was her response for getting burnt by the hot cup ..you need to ask for burnt cream to sooth the wound .Last week we spilled to cups right on the floor and slipped on the slippery surface and were offered a replacement order.I suggested to the manager to place the new policy at the pickup locations so customers are aware but she ignored my suggestions and said they always carry burn creams for people who are injured if needed ….I knew she was program by the corporate policy and let it go at that …no use to try making sense with a sheep following the corporate policy .
This Starbucks Store is a little smaller than your typical store. The store is great and the service was great. Our drink order was made timely and perfectly.. My wife and I had the Lavender Matcha and Carmel Macchiato. The store was clean and has both indoor and outdoor seating. It is located in shopping center and the parking is not a problem.

I was in there on Sunday morning around 9:30, ordered online , when I went in to pick up my order the other stuff was there, but my coffee was missing there was a nice young lady looking over and cleaning the bar area , when she looked up I mentioned “ I thought someone had accidentally took my drink “ the girl tells the barista and I hear her say “ not my problem “. I thought I misheard that .. See looks on her screen sees that she made it and that someone obviously took it and proceeded to make me wait , over 10 min later ,the entire time had a scowl look on her face like she hates her job, then finally puts a coffee down that resembled mine no sticker ..I asked if it was mine , she ignored me , I go to look at it and she tells me do not touch the coffee!I explained I thought it was mine , ask if she could make mine and she told me “ it’s not her problem that someone took your coffee and if you don’t like it talk to my manager”!!! What???
Great Starbucks location! I come here all the time! I will say that their drive-thru line gets pretty crazy so I recommend ordering on the app for pickup. Very easy when you do it like that here. Friendly staff here and good service.

They no longer give bags for orders with multiple items in the drive thru. I had to carry five items plus a hot drink. The rep at the window said their bags are saved for delivery orders only.
Always close before time listed and workers refuse to look up when someone knocks on the door.

Had the most amazing experience today! Makayla and Paul really went above and beyond. I ordered something that I thought had foam on it and it didn’t! I mentioned that I thought it did and they fixed it, I even offered to pay and they wouldn’t let me! They did it as a courtesy. They were both soooooo personable, telling me to have a great day, super knowledgeable about everything and suggestive! Truly the best customer service experience and they made amazing drinks! Thank you so much.
