I am of Swedish ancestry and had a great talk with Waxin founder Patrick and his wife about my great grandfather coming over from Forslav Sweden in 1907. Guest top bartender Sante (also my GGF's name) in town from Stockholm made me a blueberry gin-tonic (with Swedish gin). Delicious surf/turf gourmet Swedish cuisine recommended by Patrick. At one point, I think I heard my GGF's spirit say Skål (which is cheers in Swedish). Noooo that was the bartender saying that!

I highly recommend Waxins. The quality of service and the food were excellent. The staff allowed us to sit in the private room alone which made the evening quite special. They happen to also have an excellent wine list.

Really great food, appealing to the masses but unique to be interesting. Service was pretty good.Doesn't much complete with the atmosphere of restaurants that pay premium to be near water etc.

We tried Waxins for the first time and couldn't have asked for a better all around experience. The atmosphere was not only chic and sophisticated but inviting as well! The food was outstanding, the best we have experienced so far in the area. Our server, Mitchell, was professional, friendly, perfectly attentive and ensured every aspect of our evening was to our satisfaction. We can't wait to return and are glad to have found a great place to bring visiting friends and family in the future.
This is my second time dining here. I love this restaurant, it is such a vibe on Friday night! DJ Moose, their resident DJ on Friday's had jams nonstop for hours. The food is DELICIOUS, I highly recommend the caviar. It's not the sturgeon one, it's Swedish caviar and orange! If you're debating on whether to visit or not, do yourself a favor and dine here, you'll be happy you did.

The shrimp skagen and Swedish meatballs were both outstanding! It was so refreshing to see unique foods like this on a menu. We look forward to returning to Waxin's again on our next visit to the area.
Wonderful experience. Authentic beautiful Scandinavian food with Michelin star, quality techniques, and service. Absolutely my favorite restaurant I have ever been to in the world. Bidden to multiple Michelin, star, restaurants, and this one blows out of the water.

Otherwise 5 star experience marred by our waiter not up to what owners trying to present. Ill prepared for the quality experience possible. “Sommelier off tonight, sorry. No one here to help with your wine questions”. “I've got the most tables of staff tonight so sorry can't take your photo”. He did take photo anyway!? Attempt at joke about menu selections while seemingly harmless, unprofessional and poor taste regarding the restaurant: “Swedish meatballs most popular menu item, they are delivered fresh daily from IKEA”. We felt embarrased for the lovely restaurant. Finally, we requested a final receipt copy. Waiter disappeared. Finally had to request from a manager. A beautiful restaurant with lovely food. Highly recommend but be prepared to excuse some of the help. We know it is a challenge to find staff. It is still sometimes a surprise to experience it.
Not often that you get to go to a swedish restaurant. The meatballs were perfect. I could have just had plates of them. Steak was just ok. Drinks were spot on. And the service was perfection. Overall a great restaurant. Highly

Very cool vibe pretty fun great people watching. Better to sit outside for dinner unless you are looking for an evening bar type scene in which case that's also wonderful inside

I ordered the Friday night chicken and my husband ordered the Swedish cod. The sauce served w the chicken was good, as were the potatoes and spinach that accompanied the meal. My husband said the cod was a light dish but it didn't have too much flavor. If you're a bread fan you'll be disappointed because there was no bread served at the beginning of the meal like many restaurants offer. We ordered the chocolate cake and tiramisu for dessert and both were good. If you don't want to adhere to the dress code, don't let that deter you because there were several “under dressed” patrons. The elegant chic dress code is posted on their website and there's a sign as you walk in re the dress code but some people didn't adhere to that and they weren't turned away. It's unfortunate that patrons don't respect their dress code policy. If you're reserving a table for 2 outside be prepared to sit on top of the guests next to you. The tables for 2 were crammed in. We asked to sit at a table on the end and were told we couldn't because they had a packed house for the night...well nobody sat at the end table all evening so we could've sat where we had requested. We had servers and patrons squeezing past our table throughout the night which was less than desirable. I would only go back to Waxin's if I had a reservation for more than 2 ppl so we could sit at a decent table and enjoy the ambiance. I enjoy going out to dinner but not when I'm sandwiched in between 2 tables....it totally ruins the vibe.

The food and service were wonderful, from the Liver Mousse and Tuna Tartare through the dessert trolley. Only negative was that we were sitting in a back corner near the wine refrigerator and the A/C was on a little high, so we needed our sweaters indoors. When we go back, we'll sit outside.
This is a very loud restaurant and you can not hear people at table talking. Service was ok but nothing special. Also food as ok but found a metal object in meal. They handled well but not going back anytime soon
