We splurged and went to Alices Restaurant for an early (6:00 pm) New Year's Eve dinner. This was our first time dining there. The building looked like a dated 1980's office building, devoid of any character, with a large multi-vent overhead ventilation system. We were promptly seated in an overflow type room. Despite a flurry of wait staff coming and going near us, we sat there a good 13 minutes before any wait staff appeared at our table. This is winter and it is cold outside. Incredibly, the quite loud AIR CONDITIONER kicked on and kept the room very cold. I kept my coat on the entire time we were there. Finally our waiter, Chris, appeared empty handed at our table. The said he was tardy and he had to leave but he would return. He returned and filled our water glasses, offered complementary champagne and presented bread and butter. He did not tell us about the specials. He did get our drink order. I ordered wine and my husband ordered their peanut butter manhattan. Chris returned to say they were out of the peanut butter manhattan so we ordered a bacon old fashioned. It came back filled to the brim with crushed ice, immediately watered down. My husband was disappointed. My wine was very good - Zinfandel Earthquake. We asked Chris about the food and his descriptions were bland so we disregarded his recommendations. The food was delicious when it arrived, we both ordered salad and I had the seabass and my husband had the eel ink fettucini with shrimp. That was the best part - the food. But it was WAY overpriced for the level service and poor ambiance of the restaurant. We will not go back nor can we recommend.

Expensive but the food was average at best. My wife and my sister both got dishes that came with risotto. Both of them told the waiter that the risotto was undercooked. A lady, who I presume was the manager, came by the table and asked about the risotto and told them that she would talk to the chef about it. No apologies, no replacement with property cooked risotto, no reduction on the bill. My grouper had little flavor and was bland. The lack of decor in the restaurant lessened the experience there. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you like throwing your money away.

We came in for Christmas Eve and expected large crowds. It was a lot of fun. There was a lot of energy in the wine bar and unfortunately our waitress totally neglected us. We had to go up and get our own drinks at the bar because she never came around again after the first drink order. I realize that it was busy, and most places are still a little understaffed, but she neglected us The appetizer was amazing. The salad was terrible as the lettuce was wilted in soggy the sea bass spectacular.

A few friends and I ate here to catch up over the holidays and had a great time. Our waiter was excellent- very friendly and funny, informative when making the Cesar salad at the table, patient, provided good recommendations. The food was wonderful. I had stuffed shrimp and the garlic oysters. The mixed drinks were also great. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Excellent food and service! Slightly odd decorations and table/chairs were a little uncomfortable. Just your basic wood chair. We were in the wine bar/lounge area but there was a fancier dining room that might be upon request. We will definitely return and we will spread the word. Highly recommend!

The server was excellent. And our charcuterie board was excellent. Our pre dinner cocktails were terrific. Unfortunately our lamb ordered medium rare was well done and the veal Oscar was stringy and tough. Veal should not be tough. The server was very apologetic and they comped our appetizer and an excellent key lime pie. Additionally, for a fine dining restaurant the ambiance is less than optimal as there are very hard surfaces and an open ceiling. Thus it can be a bit noisy.

The food, service and atmosphere were top notch. I had the stuffed shrimp and truffle soup...delicious! However, the noise leaves in the Wine Bar might keep me away. It was difficult to have a conversation, and I left the restaurant hoarse as if I had been to a ball game.

We went for our 8 year anniversary and it was nothing short of AMAZING!!! We were welcomed with a complimentary glass of champagne and our server Doug was fabulous. He was knowledgeable and could tell he absolutely loves his job and the quality of food that is served!!!!

It's been a month since our dinner at Alice's and I still think about that crispy creamy shrimp toast every day -- mmm, and the sea bass in brown butter, sigh... There were 4 in our party, and everything was lovely -- the rabbit, the marrow bones, the orecchietti. Our server Dave was knowledgeable and fun, but still breezily elegant, and Alice stopped by our table to check on us and thanked us for coming, which made us feel so welcomed. They did an excellent job on the decor -- room dividers that separated the dining room from the bar, which had a kind of theatrical feel when we walked in, like being behind set pieces on a stage! Once we sat at our table and ordered & started chatting, the music, lighting and ambience were exactly right for enjoying a night with family I hadn't seen in 3 years. Not pretentious, not formal -- so the highlights of the night were the food and the company, just like it should be. Cocktails were interesting and tasty -- a peanut butter Manhattan, a bacon Old Fashioned -- but they made me realize I'm a purist, so next time I'll order a classic Manhattan, and I bet it'll sing in the glass.

The ambiance is fantastic. Happy hour is a must for half price appetizers and discounted drinks. We will be back.

The food at Alice's was the best we've had here in Pensacola. They have an incredible menu with unique, beautifully described selections making it very difficult to decide what to eat. Everyone in our party of four loved what they chose. Our waiter, Nick, was personable and efficient. It was a very pleasant evening. Only thing negative are the decor and ambiance. They are lacking and don't fit the quality of the food! A little make-over could turn this into a 5 Star restaurant!

We had a party of six. Everything was wonderful except the following: crab cake appetizer was burned. If it had been mine I would have sent it back. Wine list was very good. Had wine that needed decanting. Server never checked to see if we needed our glasses refilled. Can be difficult to pour from a seated position without risking spillage.

Alice's is a gem. Despite arriving early we were immediately seated and served. A notable wine list gave lots of great choices. We settled on a nice cab to breathe while we enjoyed appetizers. The soup du jour was like a lobster bisque but had Thai influences. Creative and delicious. The Mediterranean salad was tasty and well-portioned. The crab claws were simply amazing. Get them. Dinner did not disappoint. Grouper dish and filet with Oscar topping. Tableside dessert was superb with wonderful presentation. Which leads me to service; Nick was knowledgeable, attentive, and kind. Ask for him. He will do you proud. A Pensacola highlight. Don't miss it.

Probably one of the best meals we have ever had (top 5 for sure). Amongst the four of us, we had shrimp toast, ceviche, caesar salad, sea bass, squid ink fettuccini, grouper, crème brûlée, bread pudding and bananas foster. Everything, from first bite to last bite, was amazing. Service was equally exceptionally (Dave was fantastic). Kudos to Allison and Alice of course. Our first time at Alice's will most certainly be the first of many.
