So sad to see this place go! I have been coming to the Oyster Barn since I was a child. It will always hold a special place in my heart!

I’m heartbroken that this place is temporarily closed. All summer we talked about it and the amazing oysters and fish we had here last year and looked forward all summer to coming back this winter. Hoping it will open again soon.

Don't drive there. We drove all the way there and even though it was open in July, it was a victim of Hurricane Sally..It's apparently closed although not mentioned on site.

I love this place and it's food. Unfortunately hurricane Sally has taken it out and they have closed. Don't know if that's for good or not.

Excellent value, simple menu. But closed right now to repair damage from Hurricane Sally

We go every year with our friends when we vacation on the coast. Great food, friendly service. Some of the best fried shrimp on the coast. My wife loves the seafood gumbo and we all love the hush puppies.

First, unless you order them with the traditional cornmeal breading the shrimp come tempura fried. Never seen a southern seafood restaurant where tempura was first over the traditional breading. That being said I did not care for the tempura batter at all. I had a cup of gumbo for starters I've never eaten gumbo that didn't pop with flavor, until now. The rue was more like brown eater and the shrimp and crawfish found in the gumbo were plentiful for the portion size but they literally had no flavor either The second part of my dish was fried mullet. Mullet is usually full of flavor but these were nearly devoid of any taste. Fish was breaded in cornmeal, which I'm cool with, but it tasted like it had some flour mixed in with a little pepper. There was hardly any flavor to the breading and certainly no spice to add any. Very disappointed in the mullet. The new potatoes arrived cold and I was asked, "you want them hot?". Yes, I would like to have them warm enough to melt the package of butter I was given. Second batch came out hot and we're good. (hard to foul up boiling taters). My mom's order was a half dozen (shrimp as previously described) and shrimp and grits. Mom said that her shrimp and grits arrived at what could be described as '"luke warm at best". Neither of us finished our plates.I've lived in the Gulf Shores area my entire life and I'm an avid fisherman so before any doubts my critique, I know what seafood is supposed to taste like and how it's prepared normally. Considering that I was recommended this place by a friend I was very disappointed. My friend, who hasn't been there in a couple years admittedly, said that the food was very good and flavorful there at one point. Hopefully it will get back to it. For a place to be right on the water with a beautiful view and marina attached it could be a good mine with good food being served. Hopefully they will fix the issues and get back to what my friend says they used to be. As for now, I gave them one complete star because this rating system doesn't allow you to give half stars or it would have been a 1/2 star. Sincerely hope it gets better with such a great location.

Amazing place to eat. The raw oysters were fresh and cold. We had steamed shrimp and fried grouper. The portions were good for the price. Service was excellent also.

The raw oysters were so fresh, they were sweet! The service was perfect. Nice and attentive but not pushy or smothering. Great fried fish. Thick and flakey and perfect. Awesome views.

Food was great other than the fry oil needed to be changed. Food wasn't burnt at all but had old oil taste which also makes food much darker looking. Still I great place to eat anytime of day the doors are open. I drive here from east Milton to eat
