This place is an excellent hidden gem in Pensacola. We tried a little bit of everything on the BRUNCH menu. We ordered the chicken and waffles, smothered burrito, and the BYO (Build Your Own) omelet. The portion sizes were great. We also ordered a side of Gouda Grits and a bread pudding. It was all great. Our server Heather was a busy bee. She kept the entire facility going. Her service was excellent, she is nice and friendly to everyone that came in. The atmosphere gives you a little country feel with wooden barn walls and it was very clean. I was really touched with their display honoring the MIA Vets. I must go back to try more of the menu options.10 out of 10 most definitely recommend, go try it out Pensacola.

Absolutely amazing place! Family run place and they treat you like family. Brandy is so sweet and she does a great job of making you feel welcome when you’re there.
We had a large group. The food and service were fantastic. There was another couple in the restaurant that was arguing and not having a good time. The staff was very accommodating and took am group picture for us, which obviously annoyed the arguing couple. The atmosphere and food were great, and we are actually planning on going back before we leave town.

Food was very good, but portions were small for expensive price. Places like McGuire's or Flounder's give you significantly larger portions of equal or better food for the same price. We ordered a smokehouse burger, breakfast tacos, and a creme brulee, which after an 18% tip cost us $50.We were served by a trainee who said she'd come back to ask my fiancée if she wanted a to-go cup, but she never did even after about ten minutes, so we left. The store is also very small, and it only takes one noisy table to make it difficult to hold conversation. My fiancée and I could barely hear each other after one table across the room was seated and they began talking.Honestly, except for the taste of the food, True Grit is very average, and the expensive price does not justify it at all. I do not recommend going here. There are much better restaurants in Pensacola that will give you a better value.Parking: True Grit is located at the end of a little strip mall, where most of the parking is. They are far more likely to run out of seating before parking spaces.
