We drive from Valrico to eat here and it's definitely worth the gas. Each time we've been here it has been with a group of 6 or more. We've had hibachi and sushi several times. The service is quick, the drinks are great and the food is always good. I wish I could remember all of the rolls we ordered to label the pictures correctly. The next time we go, I'll try to be better.

My wife and I just moved to Plant City a few months ago. We are working on trying out new and exciting places in this part of town. Our family told us Wasabi was a good place to go and we planned a night out with them to check it out. I made a reservation for 4 on Thursday for a Friday night hibachi dinner. The last time we went in on a Friday night without a reservation at 730pm, we were told it was a 2-hour wait. We walked into the dimly lit, loud, and crowded restaurant and were seated pretty quickly around our hibachi table. Our server came around and got us drinks. She then came back with our first dishes, a soup, and salad. If you've ever been to hibachi before, this is routine. A small house salad with ginger dressing and a mushroom soup usually starts things off. Both dishes were tasty and seemed about the norm. Nothing outstanding but good. Another party then joined our table and then our hibachi chef came out with his cart of goodies to cook. This was my first fully interactive hibachi dinner. Our chef was funny, relatable and entertaining. He got started on his routine, cooking up fried rice and noodles. Flames were ignited with oil and onions steamed like a train. Bits of the egg were saved to flip into people's mouths. I was volunteered to catch a piece and caught it on the first try. The chef went around the table and served up bits of egg to a few people. It was fun. Ample servings of fried rice were doled out and then on to the noodles. Our chef also served up some saki from a squirt bottle. I got doused in it but that was a fun experience too. I ordered the chicken and steak combo for dinner. My wife just got the steak. We let the chef know how we wanted it cooked and he did a pretty good job of making sure mine was medium and my wife's medium-well. The steak was a bit chewy, not the highest quality but it was well-seasoned and tasty. We slowly ate away at the dishes and had light conversations with the chef and others at the table. Towards the end, we got the chicken and veggies. The chicken was flavorful and tender, not overcooked. The veggies were ok. Not as flavorful but yum yum sauce enhanced them. This hibachi trip was decent. I've only ever been to Kobe before so this was very familiar. We had good company with our family and a hearty entertaining meal. I'd go again.

Our new favorite Japanese place in the area! We will definitely be back! Extremely courteous and polite staff reminds me of hospitality in Tokyo. Red and Orange rolls were amazing. Hawaiian roll was also delicious.

Too long for rice to sit on plate with no meat then comes still raw vegetables. Absolutely nothing salted. Filet steak was tough. Shrimp was over cooked.

We came for hibachi and our chef Paul did a great job. He was very entertaining, personable, and put on a great show. Our waiter was very attentive and nice. The food was delicious and had good portions. The steak was cooked well but the shrimp was the best. Highly recommend for good hibachi.

Normally I wouldn't write a bad review but this was an absolutely horrible experience. I have been to Wasabi three times prior to last night each time I had an amazing experience. Last night my daughter and her boyfriend came to stay with me for the weekend. I was so excited to take them to Wasabi. When we got there the Hibachi Grill was a little fool so we decided to take a table seat. Our waitress was extremely rude to not only my daughter but her boyfriend. Not sure the name of the waitress but she was the only white woman there. She not only criticized the place that she worked at she made inappropriate jokes to my daughter's boyfriend I was completely embarrassed but to top it off my daughter and I got the chicken hibachi. As my daughter was eating it we realized there was shrimp in her food which she is highly allergic to our waitress acted like it was a joke and made jokes about it nothing about having shrimp in your Chicot is funny. The fact that it says an appetizer on the menu means it should be on the side not added into the main dish. Luckily my daughter did not eat the shrimp and only had a mild reaction. I was completely mortified and embarrassed for my daughter's boyfriend the waitress kept on making rude comments to him. Not sure if she thought it was funny but nothing about the situation was funny. This woman was either high or drunk I'm not sure which one. Honestly I'm very disappointed in the service we got and I will never go back even though I literally live right up the road. The restaurant that I once raved about is now a restaurant that I would discourage anyone from going to.

standard hibachi grill that's is good quality food, big variety hibachi menu with sushi as well. Noodles are added to hibachi along side normal stuff. Had chicken and NY Strip. Strip was a bit tough.

Family of 3 generations enjoyed the entertainment/show aspect of the establishment. Would def NOT order the Filet nor NY Strip- both were tough and over cooked compared to what was requested. The vegetables and noodles were good with ample quantities. So much in fact they automatically bring to go boxes for everyone. The place was full. Each hibachi area is a seating for ten. Paul, our hibachi master, was funny and engaging with the table. Overall an okay one time experience for us.

Back where I grew up, we had 2 staple Japanese steakhouse that I loved going to. When I moved down to the Tampa area, I was sad the only one near by was Kobe and was sadly disappointed. When I found this place, decided to give it a shot and am very impressed. The hibachi chef was very talented and funny, the staff was great, and the food was very tasty. Don't be surprised if this 4 star becomes a 5 for me if the next visit is just as good. The sushi was also very good but the hibachi is where the show is at, and I'm not one to easily pass up sushi. This is a must try in plant city and even if you are in the Lakeland or north Tampa area.
