This place is amazing and we will be back. 100% authentic and be prepared to speak or understand some Italian. We were on vacation and looking for an Italian meal and decided to stop in and we are so happy we did. We had the Bolognese and Sea Bass and loved it. The food is incredible!!!

The food and service was excellent at Trattoria Novella. This is truly a local family restaurant with fresh ingredients prepared by an outstanding chef. Our server was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our meal at a table on the patio and did not feel rushed. We were treated very kindly and will come back again.

Awesome food. We are visiting the area. We came here yesterday for dinner and had the pasta and the special appetizer. We also had tiramisu for dessert. Very good quality. The wine by the glass was excellent and reasonable. We came back for our last night in the area . Had the bronzino fish and pasta and wine. Excellent again. The place has outside tables next to a road but is very pleasant. And the food is as good as you can get anywhere on Italy. We will be back next time we visit the area.

This is an amazing restaurant. Authentic Italian cuisine and charm. The quality of the food equals a visit to Italy.

I have been to this restaurant numerous times and have always have a wonderful and delicious meal! True Italian cooking by the owner's daughter! They both are super friendly and bring to the table home style Italian cooking! A must to try!

I have been here several times with friends and just on my own. It is an intimate, comfortable restaurant. The food is always fresh and the pastas are home made. Camilla is the chef, she is the daughter of Lillia who usually serves us. They are both warm and hospitable and fluent in Italian. Camilla is a talented chef and all her preparations are very well prepared and nicely presented. I have enjoyed eating there on my own, but with friends or your favorite date the sharing of the food in this quaint restaurant enhances this happy dining experience.

How I hoped this restaurant would live up to the expectations of the ratings but unfortunately I was so disappointed. This mother and daughter team are trying hard and I respect that, but what I can't respect is the fact they are passing off authentic made to order Italian meals using an inferior product. They were extremely short of help but we are very patient people and totally understanding, while waiting I noticed what looked like small Arancini rice balls going to another table and decided that's what I would like for appetizer. When I inquired about the appetizer the server/owner mentioned that they have a larger rice ball on special, I said sure that's fine even though the other table had would looked like smaller arancini balls. Once I received the appetizer and took the first bite I quickly realized why she pushed us to this "special". The middle was cold with ice crystals and this too perfect roundly breaded ball was suspect as being a manufactured frozen product. I ordered the chicken Parm and when I cut into the dish it was very difficult to cut an extremely chewy, another indication that this was a premade manufactured frozen cutlet. I don't want to believe this but again this was my only conclusion based on my 40 years of eating chicken Parm's and chicken cutlets from an array of restaurants throughout the country. My suspicions were mostly validated when I heard a couple next to us whispering about the cheesecake they ordered and how it tasted different from their last visit. The server/owner upon dropping off the check at that table was asked by the couple If this was a different cheesecake and to my surprise the server/owner admitted that they had run out and went to the Publix which is located behind them to get cheesecake! It seems like they may have run out of a lot of products which is quite common these post Covid days for restaurants but if I were them I would not open this restaurant and serve this poor quality food as it does not coincide with their previously stellar ratings. Don't do this to your customers, I appreciate her being honest about the cheesecake but trying to pass off what I believe to be pre-manufactured frozen products at top dollar prices is shameful. I hope they read this and I hope they understand where I'm coming from, I know it's difficult out there in the restaurant world but it would be best to not open for business for the day then serve an deeply inferior product!

Absolutely delicious and authentic food! It was a warm and inviting location that had a kind mother daughter duo.

This is the absolute best Italian meal you’ll have without traveling to Italy. MUST try the eggplant parmigiana or the mushroom ravioli with white sauce - both are out of this world delicious! And ask for the red wine produced at the Hostesses friend’s vineyard “Merlot Trevente Ca Del Borgo (Valpanera)”. Visit Italy right in Pompano Beach. Tell them Grace sent you !

Trattoria Novello I was so excited to try a new restaurant here in Pompano Beach What an incredible disappointment I made a reservation for 4 this evening We arrived - I was yelled at that I did not have a reservation I showed her the confirmation She continued to yell at me - I had not made it early enough - I made it on open table at 6:30 - for 7:30 She continued to be so rude - We left and had an amazing meal at Cafe Max Thank you again Cafe Max for yet another incredible meal If trattoria Novello thinks they will build a clientele be being so incredibly rude to their patrons they won't be here very long.

If I could give them less stars, I would. I met my father for lunch at Rabbit Hole next door. I decided to look at both menus. I wanted to place orders for both restaurants. The waitress at Trattoria then asked us to leave because she has customers, and we could not sit at her outdoor table though she set the table up for us and said she could serve us. It was 2 pm and her restaurant does not open until 4:30. She was more than rude. I will never go again, nor will I refer people. Poor customer service. I was then approached by the mother and daughter and accosted in front of the Rabbit Hole for making my review. Absolutely unacceptable!

Four of us ate at this inviting establishment on a Wednesday. The service was attentive and friendly. The wine was wonderful as were the appetizers. We had the antipasto, caprese and a yellow stuffed pepper. All amazing. We had an angus ribeye with mushrooms (bistro a arrostita) that was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The orecchiette pugliesi was amazing. The gnocchi with short rib was awesome and the tiaramisu was great!

Met our friends here tonite for dinner, we hadn't been here in almost two years, so we were surprised that there were new owners. Owned by a mom (Lillia) and her daughter, the chef. We were met by Lillia who was very nice and welcoming, our table was ready & waiting for us, we were expecting another couple, but they didn't show. We were served water, great bread w oil and ordered wine. Three had the Caesar salad to start and all said it was very good and I had the cherry tomato and mozzarella salad which was excellent! They again ALL ordered the Chicken Parmigiano and enjoyed it, I had the papperdalle w butter & truffle oil, simple, but delicious. Two had coffee and a tiramisu for the table. I understand these are new owners taking over at a very difficult covid time, but just a couple suggestions...white or black table cloths. Fresh cracked pepper. Cream for coffee. Lower lighting and perhaps a candle on table would be nice w a simple fresh flower. We enjoyed our meal, had a GREAT time, as we always do, it was a fun evening! Best wishes to the new owners, I'm sure they will do well.

Looking for a nice place to celebrate our 25th anniversary and I chose Trattoria Novello. After our dining experience I knew why. Lilli and her daughter Camilla are from Italy bringing authentic Italian food to Pompano Beach. During this COVID madness of local rules they have struggled to stay in business. We are only here for a few days but I would ask that you all keep visiting to keep them afloat. Forget the chain restaurants this is real Italian food made by Italian immigrants. Don't miss an opportunity to dine here. We had the Caesar salads with a lovely homemade dressing. My wife had the mussels and really enjoyed them. I had the Mediterranean Sea bass and it was exceptional. For dessert we shared a tiramisu that was fabulous.
