Food made with simplicity and comfort in mind, but with care. Enjoy amazing paninis; however, the Arepas are the start of this hidden place in Ft. Lauderdale. The owners will personally attend and cook for you, and the quality of the food speaks for itself. Extensive menu options and that include plant-based choices for those vegans out there.

Today I met the owner (Andy) of this restaurant. He happened to be getting a hair cut at the same place I get my nails done. When I overhead him talking about his new restaurant, I just had to find out more. Coming back from some errands later today, I was right by his new place and decided to try it out. The restaurant is inside (to the back) of a store that says Juls' Subs Beer Wine on it's marquee sign. It's down a few doors from Pompano Pizza just south of McNab on the east side of Cypress Road (18th Ave). There's parking right out front. A very nice lady (Amanda?) was manning the restaurant. Between her limited English and some of my Spanish, I ordered a panini. I got the one with ham and cheese. I selected mozzarella for my cheese along with tomato and lettuce. I opted to leave off the mayo. They do a big takeout business, but you can also dine inside. There are 4 small two-person tables in front of the deli counter. Panini sandwiches include your choice of soup or a house salad. The soups are either vegan lentil or a soup of the day. After tasting the daily soup, that's what I got -- a very good, full bodied cup of mushroom soup. The panini is made on ciabatta bread that is grilled (pressed) so your sandwich is warm and crusty on the outside. The sandwich was excellent -- I only could finish half of it after the soup. Prices are very reasonable. You order in the restaurant area, grab a drink from the cooler, if you wish, and pay the man upfront. He then let's her know you've paid. In addition to panini (8 listed) , you'll find the Latin and South American twist -- they have 10 kinds of arepas (including one called La Latina; one Dominicana; one Cubana), wraps, 2 empanadas (including an Argentinian beef one), hot dogs (including a Venezuelan street one), plus 6 side salads. The 2 desserts looked pretty good, too, but I was too full to try them. They had tres leches, and the one that caught my eye -- a chocolate marquesa -- a cookie cake. It was made of dark chocolate ganache and Maria cookies (you've probably seen the Goya brand of these cookies in stores -- they're thin, round, slightly sweet biscuit type cookies). Chocolate for sure next time!

9/25/19: Ordered delivery from Uber Eats... The cuban sandwich was really tasty and I enjoyed the pulled pork which was super lean. The bread was very good and I loved the flavor of the sandwich. I noticed that they served Boars Head cold cuts so I knew the quality would be on point. I also really liked the lentil soup! However, I was pretty disappointed with the fact that half the ingredients were missing from my salad... avocado, hearts of palm, etc. Also, I ordered an empanada that I didn't receive. Uber Eats kindly refunded the difference. Delivery was quick and painless :)
