Today is our first time visiting Skully's. Paul (owner) is such a kind, laidback person. We haven't tried the food yet, but the customer service was excellent. Cash only for payment. Please stop by and support this kind man's business when you're in town.

Skully’s is an absolute must visit establishment if you’re nearby the Forgotten Coast. This place exemplifies perfectly what makes this stretch of the Gulf so charming. We stopped for dinner after spending the day on Cape San Blas. This is a no-frills establishment. Just a small window to place your order and a few picnic tables out front to eat the food. Everything is packaged to-go, so if you’re staying nearby, it would be easy to take home. When we got to the window, Skully himself greeted us. We realized that it was cash only and I said I’d run down the road to grab some cash. Skully’s response was, “You’re here now. You’re gonna get some food. You can pay me tomorrow. I don’t care. Grab a beer and sit down. It’ll be ready in about 10 minutes. The beers are in the cooler. They’re free”. I ended up going to grab some cash a bit later and returning to pay him, but it’s refreshing to see that there are still places around that offer this kind of small town hospitality to a complete stranger. As far as the food goes, we ordered a “small” bucket of low country boil ($50) plus a “pound” of shrimp ($20) for our family of 5. We ended up taking almost the entire pound of shrimp home because the small bucket was so much food. Most low country boils are heavy on the potatoes, corn, and sausage, and topped off with seafood. This was the exact opposite. I’d wager there were nearly 2 pounds of shrimp in the bucket and this was topped off with the other fixings. It was cooked perfectly. The shrimp were fresh. The spice was just right. The extra “pound” of shrimp we ordered was also a very generous pound. I’m not sure what type of scale Skully uses, but I can assure you he’s not cheating anybody out of food.

This place is a must stop. We ordered a $100 bucket for that was to feed 4-6 people- we had 5 and only ate about 2/3 down the bucket. Lots of shrimp in the bucket and it was cooked really well, not overcooked at all. The service was super friendly. This is not a sit down and dine inside restaurant, it has a few picnic tables outside and that about it. They do offer free drinks out of a cooler and this includes beers. Will definitely go back next time I am in town.

Best meal we've had in years! Ate here on a whim after St. Joe Shrimp Company decided to tell us they wouldn't serve us an hour before closing time as the only customer inside. Gumbo and shrimp boil is a must at Skully's! So delicious and great value. Bring cash! Wish we would've eaten her every day of our vacation!

A little under-seasoned, but the quality of the people there makes it perfect. Grateful for a place like this!

Best place to eat in Cape San Blas. Don't even waste your time with the other two disappointing restaurants on the Cape. The menu is simple, the atmosphere is relaxed and the service was outstanding. Generous servings, reasonable prices and free entertainment by the owner (he will play guitar and sing) when he has a free moment between serving his guests.

Amazing food, HUGE shrimp and quantities, authentic Low Country flavor! And how do you go wrong w/ free beverages???You must go!Sadly, tiny little no-see-ums interrupted the entire experience but that is by no means a reason no to try this food!!!

If I could give this place 10 stars, then I would! My wife and I are total food snobs. We rarely eat out because we just don't see the value in it and quite frankly, we can cook better than 99% of the restaurants.Well, this is one of the 1% place we cannot cook better! We ordered the low country boil for two people for takeout. We rarely carry cash (this is a cash-only place) and had only 30$ between us. The very kind owners said "yeah that's plenty, if you can come back with the rest!" Who does that in today's society? Of course we came back with the rest of the money later that night. Now, onto the food. As I said, we did takeout and got a very heavy plastic bag of food. We got home (we were staying less than 2 mins away) and I pulled one of the plastic containers out of the bag. It was filled to the brim with incredible shrimp, sausage and a few pieces of corn and potatoes. I thought WOW what a great deal and I figured the OTHER container would have filler like corn and potatoes. So I peeked in there and nope, same thing! It was filled to the brim with the same amount of food! The shrimp were perfectly done and not overcooked. The thing that really got me was the ears of corn. Usually the corn is water logged and quite frankly, not all that tasty. However, here it was just perfect! Everything was beyond delicious! Now I'm a big eater. I rarely get my fill at a restaurant, but with this meal, we literally had 5 meals between my wife and I. It was just as good leftover cold the next day as it was the first. So in summary, probably one of the best, most friendliest places I've ever been too. Just go, you will NOT be disappointed!!!!

All the reviews are true. The gumbo was so dang good I finished it before we made it back to our house. The sausage in the boil had just the right amount of sweetness, the potatoes were tender and the shrimp was so good I felt like I was eating lobster meat. Everything had just the right amount of heat. Skully shot the breeze with my hubby for a bit and offered cold beer and soda. My husband really enjoyed their interactions. He'll be in business for years to come.
