This establishment is truly commendable. The items on the menu are prepared with fresh ingredients and are all homemade, including the bread. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, creating a pleasant atmosphere.

Amazing and friendly service. The ambiance was cute. There was big nature paintings on the walls that makes you feel like you are somewhere else. The outside building is simple but inside has a lot of character. I wish there was plants on the outside. I love the large windows. I like that they painted the building nice pop of color to the street. I like the sayings, crystals, statues, large flowers that they used to decorate the inside. It was clean and bright inside. I had the chicken salad with provolone cheese on rye with chips and fresh salsa and lentil soup which was good. Black bean soup with cheddar cheese was good as well. Great price and portions were big. Lunch special was great you get sandwich with chips and fresh salsa, soup and a drink for $12. Green tea was good. I like that they use paper straws and don't heavily sweeten there teas. Organic healthy food. Cafe offers vegan and vegetarian options. Each dish that came out looked great. They have Acai bowls for breakfast. Five minutes away from Rockledge Gardens. I will definitely be back. Our male server was great sorry forgot his name. He had great suggestions. Very nice and knowledgeable about menu and the history of the place. I was hungry by the time I thought to take a picture it was gone. I definitely recommend this hidden gem.

I have driven by this place a few times and finally decided to give it a try after seeing some positive reviews, and I am so happy that I did! It's been hard to find a good restaurant that understands the power of a dang vegetable. I got the Southwest wrap and it came with chips and salsa, and not just any salsa! This has to be homemade. I walked in on a whim and ordered to-go, it was ready very quickly, and in the time I was sitting there many others came to pick up orders as well. I didn't look at the breakfast menu, but an absolute must for lunch. 5 stars because the food, the price, and the service all align perfectly. There are a few seats but I did not stay to eat so this rating does not include ambiance.

I have been here twice now. It seems like the ingredients they use in their food is a notch above the rest. The dishes lean on the healthy and lighter side, but the quantity of food is perfect. Both times I was there the soup was excellent and had to be made from scratch. I recommend the lunch special 1/2 wrap/sandwich and a cup of soup. It is a good deal. Today I had the chicken salad wrap which is why I bumped my rating from 4 stars to 5. And the service was great both times.

Big Boy Dining Out

Peace in the Garden Cafe, 397 Barton Blvd. Rockledge, FL 329554- StarsThe distribution of restaurants in this county is uneven. It’s almost as if some cosmic restaurant emunctory spreading whale passed overhead. North County has comfort food, i.e., Southern food and donuts. South County has fine dining and charred cows. What does that leave for the good folk residing in the Central portion of our county? After my second excursion to Peace in the Garden Cafe, they have two great vegan/health food restaurants within one mile of each other. When I previously dined at Peace in the Garden Cafe, it garnered a 3-star review. This time, I found the food much improved; however, Adriana, our service member, was not good. By not good, I mean she moved at a snail’s pace and seemed relatively uninterested in us, her job, the whole ordeal. In a slop house where I am one of two customers, it should take less than eight minutes for first contact (yes, I do time this). The plus side is that while awaiting first contact, I noticed an elderly gentleman well above 80 wearing a brown pompadour rug and driving a black Pontiac Firebird with a license plate that read, “Bandit.” I kid you not. Ah, what’s not to love about Florida? I kept a look-out for his proverbial “arm candy,” but alas, I saw no such animal.I managed to finagle an order for the Tofu Ruben Wrap and a Tuna Salad Sandwich. At least the person in the kitchen was moving at the proper speed, as my food was ready in no time. If you peek at the accompanying pictures, you see everything looks fresh. In this case, looks were not deceiving. I found the Tofu Ruben Wrap to be delightful. The tofu was firm and the combined flavors, whatever they were composed of, hinted at a good deli Ruben. The blue tortilla chips on the side were fresh, warmed and crunchy, with just a hint of sea salt.Moving on to the Tuna Salad Sandwich. I would like to draw your attention to the pictures once again. Just look at how fresh that tuna appears to be. The size of the chunks is impressive and the sliced pickle was huge, fresh and crispy. This sandwich was indeed a pleasure on the palate. The Big Boy says, “Unless you live in Mims or Micco, this place is worth the drive.”

It's with a broken heart I write this review. I have been coming to this homie cafe since it opened many years ago. I'm obsessed with the tuna melt and soup lunch combo. Their homemade food makes you feel good eating it. However, the service, or lack thereof, is the sole reason I won't be patronizing it anymore. I'd heard stories about repeated poor service from friends but I gave them the benefit of the doubt (partly because the food is so good). Unfortunately the blatant lack of service to ALL customers (not just the daily regulars) that occurred on my latest visit is too obvious to overlook. The owner didn't even acknowledge me standing at the counter for a few minutes waiting to order. An older woman (obviously a daily patron) came in behind me and was immediately greeted and asked if she was getting her usual. When I expressed that I was waiting to be helped and didn't appreciate being overlooked, the owner acted like she couldn't understand a word I was saying. This comes after multiple visits dining in having to track down someone to refill glasses, get boxes, etc. Other customers seem to be awarded better service, which is unfortunate. It's also somewhat ironic being they call themselves "Peace". I guess they only value one type of customer and, unfortunately for both of us, it's not me. Farewell delicious tuna melt-you'll be missed. I hope they change how they do business.
