Great Barbecue, it's recommended that you call your order in around 2:30. Food sells out fast, and this place is only open on Friday.

The real address is 1452 Garden Rd, just off of Barton Blvd. The BBQ is great. If you have never been to Shaw's there are several critical things to know. First, they are only open on Friday at 3:30 pm until the BBQ runs out. Take-out only, although there are some picnic tables. It is best if you order days ahead of time. They only take cash. If you haven't ordered days ahead, you better get in line by 3pm. There isn't anything here that I have eaten that wasn't great. You owe it to yourself to try this place out. The food here is fantastic! I call ahead to place my order so that I don't run the risk of them being out, as they have it posted "until they run out". If I've planned all week to have BBQ I want to make sure I have it.

Having lived in Texas for well over 20 years, I thought that I had pretty much tasted the best beef brisket possible. Then I tried Shaw's beef brisket and it was "best ever" tremendous. Not only did I get the wonderful aroma of smoked meat and the customary explosion of flavor with a peppery zing to it but the brisket was so moist and even better, the moistness seems to come from the fat that has rendered through the slow and low cooking process thus creating a delicious flavor filled texture. While it lacks the typical hard, spicy, and crunchy bark of traditional Texas BBQ, this brisket has the smoke ring and a softer crust but like butter, baby, this brisket just melts in your mouth. Let me put it this way, this place is open three hours a week (not a day!!!) and they have a line waiting to be served and they serve until they run out of food...which can go pretty quickly. An additional surprise happened when I first tasted their sweet BBQ sauce - it is a bit thinner than typical tomato based BBQ sauces and it has a tanginess and flavor that reminded me of the wonderful BBQ sauce that my mom used to make back when I was a kid growing up in South Jersey. Hence, in just one visit, I found some of the very best and most certainly the most moist and juicy flavorful beef brisket ever and I was also reminded of my mom's cooking - it doesn't get any better than that...other than you will find Shaw's beef brisket at a very fair price! I called in to thank the chef (ie: pit master) and he was engaging, knowledgeable, and it is clear that he takes great pride in the special way that he creates a unique and delicious twist on traditional beef brisket! Call in your order ahead of time, bring cash (don't forget to tip the cashier!), and plan on waiting in line for a few minutes under the Live Oaks - it all just adds to the journey of discovering this amazing place! Your taste buds with thank you!!!

Best Smoke in the area. Only open one day per week from 3:30-6pm on Friday's only. Oh and make sure to call in your order ahead of time, they run out quickly!

You guys. Wow. So good! Call ahead on Friday or go to the "shack" right at 3:30 when it opens - you won't be disappointed! Meat and sides sold separately. Half pound or whole for meats, small or large for sides (baked beans or slaw.. both delicious). I had planned to take some pictures of the brisket and pork but devoured the brisket so quickly there was no time. Pulled pork is half eaten,, sorry. The ribs though.. WOW!! So good.. Oh, also, homemade BBQ sauces. Right!? Do yourself a favor.

Tough choice deciding whether to tell everyone how great the place is or tell everyone it's horrible and hope they stay away so I can enjoy it. Great place!Mike and staff very friendly. The brisket was as tender and tasty as I have ever had. Wife loved the ribs and the brisket and I enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich as well. Love to eat at places that are only open a limited number of hours; lets me know someone is in it for love of the endeavor and not for the money. Definitely worth a try to see if you agree!Nate
