Finally happy to say I found a Chinese place that is Identical to Chinese food up north. Every time I've ordered at other places I'd spend over $60 and threw it out. I didn't get any pictures but I promise this is the best Chinese place around!

Not worth it. We tried a different Chinese place for something different than our normal and it was the wrong thing to do. The is mediocre at best, empty ragoons, and the meals are quite literally only vegetables. Will definitely be sticking to our normal and learned our lesson.

Won't go back. Ordered small vegetable Lo mein and got VERY few vegetables. Maybe 2 mushrooms and 2 snow peas. I even paid $1 for broccoli! Hard to find good Chinese in this area. Place looked kinda dirty. Pam

Used to be ok but quality has gone down as prices go up. Wife had Roast Pork Lo Mein the other night, very...very little pork. Lots and lots of noodles. Also ordered Fried Wonton; got the sauce but no Wonton. Called and guy who answered asked me 5 times if I was sure. Told me I could come back and they would give me a free order. Asked if they could just credit my card and he said sure. Still waiting for the credit...time to find a new place.

To be honest I can't understand why this place gets such high ratings it's mediocre at best. The General Tso chicken had many many pieces that were the size of a nickel and we know what that means more fat and breading than chicken and a few pieces that had chicken in them were okay, nothing special. The pork fried rice was delicious, though it was a combination and there was way more rice than there was General Tso chicken part. The egg roll was fine and the steam dumplings lacked some flavor.I don't mind driving for quality food in this case I don't think I'll be back here.I didn't bother getting pictures this time because it was just food shoved in a plastic box.I usually don't comment on the interior of a restaurant or exterior but this place needs a serious overhaul. Using a shower curtain as a screen between customers and employees is just hideous and that's one of the many things I can nitpick but I've had some amazing meals in lousy looking places over the years and I was willing to give this a try.

Ordered at 5:45 they stated it will take well 10 minutes. Went to the front to see if my order was ready at 6:20 and they said it would be ready in 5 min? it was 6:30 and I was still waiting for my food.

Ordered online for a 6:18p pick up. Went to the front to see if my order was ready at 6:45p and they said it was next. By 7:11p I was still waiting for my food. Walked out and gave China Star my business.Update: I just received a call from China Wok at 7:58p letting me know my order was ready. I let the caller know my order was supposed to be for 6:18p. The response was well we were busy. The audacity to call that it's ready and then say you were busy. How about tell your caller/customers you are sorry! Or call the customer in advance that there will be a delay. Learn customer service.

I ordered the roast pork egg foo young lunch special. The egg foo young was so fresh and tender. Perfect! The lunch came with fried rice. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of China Wok's fried rice. It is too greasy and not enough veggies. I prefer white rice.Service is always fast, never a problem with my order, and the staff are friendly. I like that it's a family-run business.

You humans crack me up. Moan, complain, and gripe over some of the smallest things. If a place is so busy that they make a mistake, that's a sign that they must be fairly decent to be that busy, right? You see it's basically a family run deal, and that the entire family works...even the juveniles. That's culture, not indentured servitude or slavery. Sheesh.I'll get off the soap box and simply say, expect what you expect. This is an old school Chinese style eatery, primary for take out, or as they say in the UK, a right good takeaway.I had the Singapore Mei Fun. It was a darn good spicy curry noodle combination that I really like, and they did it well. She had the Moo Goo Gai Pan and it was very tasty.Portions are good size. Prices are fair. Service was prompt and friendly. We had zero complaints. As we sat there eating at one of the few tables (remember, their focus is take out, obviously), there were a number of people who came in that are what you have to call "regulars".Recognition by the staff is clue one. Customers ordering like they've been there a hundred times, is clue two.And the steady stream of traffic for first thing on a Sunday morning...definitely clue three that this is a place worth of the higher rating.Nice job!

There are a couple of different take out Chinese restaurants in the Ruskin/Apollo Beach area, but we are loyal to China Wok because they have always been consistent in taste, and it is such a quick and convenient location. The staff are always friendly, and our order is always ready when scheduled. They do have seating inside, but we have always ordered our food to bring home. I always get the egg drop soup and the combination platter of the chicken with vegetables that comes with pork fried rice and an egg roll. It's a generous portion, and I always have leftovers. My husband always gets the general tso chicken combination platter that also comes with pork fried rice and an egg roll. He too always has some leftovers. They have a good size menu with a lot of options, and the prices are reasonable.
