So disappointed. I've ordered it once before and they were awesome. Gave them another shot- and it was all terrible. They forgot some of our food(we had it delivered). The food tastes horrible. Nothing like it had been before. I couldn't even eat it. Canned corn and green beans we're in the fried rice. Strange. Reading all the other reviews im now going to watch my credit card carefully as it seems they steal peoples card information. My advice to the owner is to do better- the cooking has gone way down hill.

Awful. My first time for dark brown WonTon soup. The general tso's chicken was simply tasteless -- no spice, no taste. I asked for more veggies, less chicken and wound up with 1 piece of broccoli and a container full of bland, touch pieces of chicken.

Second time I’ve been given the wrong order when I ordered tofu they gave it to me unseasoned with the sauce on the side so I just cooked it myself in a pan, this time they didn’t even included the sauce so it’s just unflavored….tofu.

Well I suppose this review is for "Helen" Part I: The Food ------ Honestly the food was kinda terrible. Orange chicken and General Tso's chicken had way too much flour on the meat, the sauces just taste like sugar, my egg rolls were saturated with oil (kind of like when you fry something in oil that's too cold), the steamed dumplings were filled with a clear, unpleasant liquid, and the list goes on. Honestly the merits of the food under "New Management" would be enough to earn a one star rating. But wait, there's more. Part II: The Food Safety and The (alleged) Fraud ----- Looking back on all the credit card fraud I've experienced since I've moved to Jacksonville, it's not looking good for King Wok. Two things have been consistent during my 7 years here-- me having my credit card fraudulently used every 6 months or so, and my insatiable need for Chinese food. I ordered from them Oct 10 for the first time since they shut down. 15 days later (after over a year of no fraud-- longest in my history living here) charges started to appear. All told about $600 of food delivery from other LOCAL Jacksonville restaurants (Texas Roadhouse, Outback). Helen has been saying they're under new management, and they don't tolerate fraud, however a very cursory look at their business registration shows they've been under the same ownership dating back to at least 2017. The principal owner is Xue Ling Qiu, listed as (QIU, XUELING) on business records. I believe this person owns the Happy Wok near JAX beach and I'm sure if I kept digging I'd find more. I've never gotten sick from their food, but their habit of health code violations continues (again public record). I wouldn't put too much stock in this to be fair, all restaurants get some minor health code violations. However there were several food safety items in their most recent one which are concerning as unsafe handling and storage of food is why people get sick. I of course have no proof that the fraud originated from here, but the pattern of credit cards being stolen and used to purchase more food (whether doordash or the Chinese grocery) fits, and "New Management" coming here and trying to reassure people while not being transparent about principal ownership is at minimum dishonest, and if worst intents are assumed, downright deceptive. Part III: What can King Wok do? ----- Honestly I get that owning and running a restaurant business has got to be the pits. Long hours and slim margins. I would never want to work in that world. I don't know if these guys are getting owned by hackers, have a lying employee, a compromised ordering system or are part of an epic crime gang bent on stealing as much free food delivery as possible, but this is a pattern that has been going on for some time and it has to stop. IF the owners are serious about gaining back people's trust, what is needed is TRANSPARENCY. People want to hear what is being done, what has happened in the past, what challenges they're having, and what a corrective plan looks like. Switching to a secure payment system like apple pay, with payment being rendered at a customers door (via apple pay) could help as well, as it mitigates lots of issues endemic to using traditional cards. I ordered online, so I suspect the source of this criminal activity originates there. When I did order from them during the pandemic they took credit cards in person and I did not have these issues. I plan on contacting the St Johns Sheriffs office and I'd encourage anyone else who experiences fraud to do the same, especially if the pattern fits. There are many facets to fraud, and the owner may or may not be involved, complicit or aware. However it seems that there is a pattern here, enough of one for me to avoid doing business here until they can demonstrate that this issue has been definitively resolved, because the truth is, nothing has changed-- ownership, ordering system, etc. Something needs to change for change to happen. Also. If the

Sign said under new management so we gave it a try. We new it was horrible before, it was just as horrible. The food had no taste to it. Extremely bland. My chicken and broccoli, the chicken was rubbery and gross. My husband had boneless ribs, there was barely any sauce and no taste. Won't be back!

The negative remarks are hard to believe. I have been eating at this restaurant for FIVE years.1. The food is ALWAYS good and hot.2. My credit card has NEVER been compromised.3. Nobody has EVER been rude.4. When I go inside to pick up my order, I have NEVER seen it nasty as others have described.Pretty odd in FIVE YEARS, none of these things have happened to me. Sounds like people are getting paid off to bash the restaurant to me...

Blandest worst Chinese food I have ever had… I added 10 packets of soy sauce and even that couldn’t help it. Then when I went to enjoy my fortune cookie. It would not even break! It was clearly stale and old. I will not be eating here again.

Ordered lunch from them despite all the reviews. Owner and staff were extremely friendly and the food was absolutely amazing. So I learnt that the new owner just took over the business a week ago ... I do feel sorry for them.. they explained to me that they were so shocked to hear from some customers what the old owner had done. They could have checked online reviews before the takeover but I simply don't think they are capable to lol.... please give this restaurant a try, help this new owner and their small business to survive.

BEWARE! History of credit card fraud stemming from this place. I didn’t believe it until it happened to me too! They charged over $100 in two separate transactions this weekend, I haven’t been to this restaurant in months. ? Pay cash or go somewhere else!

Fraud alert! King Wok in the Walmart marketplace plaza is a credit card crime factory... do not order food there unless you want your card stolen. Multiple reports of them running hundreds of dollars of charges days weeks or even months after your original order. People have even had their cards ran at the Chinese restaurant supply. They tried charging us $87 while we were out of town on vacation. Fortunately the card had expired so the charge was denied. Another victim in Julington Creek stated this: Do NOT order from King Wok on SR 13 next to Moe's and the Walmart Neighborhood Market! I accidentally ordered from them back in December, thinking I was ordering from the place next to Publix on Flora Branch (I couldn't recall the names and was trying to order in a hurry). I had read previously that this place had used people's credit cards fraudulently. I watched for a little while after my order, and I thought maybe I was okay since I had ordered online (so they couldn't clone my card). Well, I went a little while ago to look at my credit card bill, and these guys have been busy (and not even slightly smart, not trying to hide it at all!). Yamibuy (from a quick Google search) is a Chinese grocery. The rest of the charges, they were bold enough to just charge right to their own store! Please share if you're local! I disputed the charges, ordered a new credit card, and am getting ready to call the police to make a report!
