So glad I stopped here to eat. Great atmosphere, great food and TOP-NOTCH service (Thank you, Adrian!). I may have to drive from Charleston to Jacksonville just for Oola Mala. Stop in. You won’t be disappointed!

We have tried Oola Mala several times since they opened and I really like this restaurant. We've tried their Oola Mala pot, beef pot, and lamb pot. We have also tried various sushi/rolls. I have to call out that we tried the Radiant Sunrise Roll, which is more like a couple of ...beef taco? While I laugh a little at it (that it's not a sushi roll), it is really really delicious. We've tried several of their rolls and like how creative they get and mostly are very tasty. In the end, we typically go with the lamb pot and ask for extra extra extra spicy. When it's regular spicy, I find it a bit mild. However, that is purely a presonal preference. The soup base is very tasty, regardless of how spicy you request it. It comes with a wide variety of ingredients. The only downside is that there is not something to keep the soup hot the entire time, which is traditionally, what hotpot is about. So I do find myself rushing to finish up because I like my soup very hot. But overall, when I am craving for a nice 'pot' of soup, Oil Mala would come to mind.

1st time with the family Fang knows the menu very well with her perfect recommendations. Drinks consisted of lavender haze, michelob ultra and strawberry slush which each of us enjoyed. Appetizer was a flavor bomb tuna tataki which has a small kick but not too much. Dinner was combo number 2 seafood and i went with juicy seasoning with hot which was a perfect balance of heat and flavor, wifey had hamachi kama which was a flakey and buttery texture that just melted your mouth and our daughter had chicken tenders with fries. I highly recommend this restaurant and shout out to Fang who is phenomenal and knows the dishes for her customers.

Sooooo good. Everything was amazing. My wife and I started with the tuna jalepeno poppers. Very good. We then shared the lobster hot pot and the St. John’s roll. Both were delicious. Our kids got the ramen, fried rice, mozzarella sticks, and JB roll. No complaints!!!

Terrible service. Terrible atmosphere. We went on Valentine's night and understandably it was gonna be packed but it was absolutely ridiculous. The waiter told me it would be a 25 minute wait and we waited an hour. I reconfirmed with her and she said it would be another 25 so we left? Multiple tables were open at the front. Everytime someone left it took close to 10 minutes for them to acknowledge the table was empty and clean if off to seat the next person even though there was clearly a long line at the front. It seems like the staff was apathetic. You can't have one person seating, serving and getting reservations it's too much. Not only the front was sticky but the bathroom was disgusting. Cleanliness is a problem here. Do better.

I was hugely disappointed in this place and it should not be rated a 4.6. I feel like this place was trying too hard, too many mismatched decor, to too many food and drinks on menu for them to keep up with. There were definitely issues:Issue 1- To begin with, our server wasn’t very attentive, didn’t write down our order which is probably why our 1 sushi roll order wasn’t put in originally. Our sushi roll finally came 15 mins after we got our other food.Issue 2 - Our son ordered the kids shrimp skewers and fried rice for dinner. Just to remind you this is a kids meal, question is - why does the shrimp skewers have chili powder on it? Kids don’t normally eat spicy and if so, it’s only select few. As a business, why would you serve spicy shrimp to a kid? I politely asked the server if we could get 2 new shrimp skewers (6 shrimps total) as these are spicy (server said chili powder was on them). The server walks by again after 10 mins of us asking this and get my sons plate to take back to finally ask the cook (my son is waiting for his shrimp!) after about another 15 mins, the server brings us 1 skewer with 3 shrimps (only half of what we should have gotten) and the server said this was all he could get from the cook. Well that was a slap in the face. Apparently this small issue was a big issue in the back kitchen!?!? I don’t think it was a huge ask, my son couldn’t eat the spicy shrimp, so we asked for new ones, he took a bite off the tail of only 1 shrimp. As a business owner you should feel the need to make the customer happy, especially when what I was asking was not something major and not our fault.

Beautiful decor , spacious and very warm atmosphere. My party was greeted at the front entrance and the server was attentive, fast and he had a really good sense. All of the dishes were appealing, unique and the food was unique especially the lobster roll.

Antonio was our server and made a handful of recommendations that were on point.I order the Lamb chops(seasoned well) the asparagus was ok,3 pieces and the rice was okay. The sushi was outstanding and Antonio was great. He had 2 other large tables but continued to check in through the night. We will be back. Drinks were decent,I had a double shot added.

I saw Oola Mala mentioned on a TikTok of the Durbin area and thought it looked fun, so I took my teenager for lunch on our day off. It's a new space and the vibe is super cute. We were seated quickly and served promptly. While they do have a bar with some really pretty cocktails, we stuck with iced tea and a blueberry soda. After all, it was lunch on a Monday. He ordered one of the ramen dishes and I had the udon noodles. Both were huge and came steaming hot. I had my noodles with just veggies which was perfect, and the ramen was loaded with pork, mushrooms, corn, and noodles. We didn't have sushi this time, but I saw several orders go by and it looks absolutely fresh and gorgeous. I can't wait to go back to try it!
